Great article about Lloyd

Funny, Brady frequently threw to Moss when he was doubled and tripled covered and many times he threw the ball to him in such tight coverage that if he threw the same pass to virtually any other receiver, it was a sure pick.

Brady has no problem throwing to a receiver in tight coverage if he has confidence that receiver will almost definitely come down with the ball or at the very least break it for an INT. Brady threw to Moss/throws to Gronk in tight coverage because he knew they would come down with the ball.

If Brady has the confidence in Lloyd to break free at the last second, he will have no problem throwing to him in coverage. Just like Gronk, he has a big catch radius. Just like Moss, he will fight for the ball and win more often than not in jump balls with tight coverage.

And once Moss stopped fighting for the ball, Brady's INT rate rose rapidly, followed by Brady finally not throwing to the guy and at the end Moss getting his ass traded since he'd become useless here even as a decoy.

It is all about faith with Brady and this is a good early sign.

That single handily lost the first Jets game in 2009. Moss got constantly beat for jump balls vs. Cromartie.

True story......

It almost always takes time for QBs and WRs to get completely in sync.

That's the point where I will think its "great".

I think some people are getting far too excited that Brady saw Lloyd get open on film of mini camp practice.

It's early June. At this point in the year, you want to know that a new player is in shape, that he's comfortable with the system, that he's not looking out of place on the field, and that he's having a positive impact in the area he was expected to. The majority of new additions are not going to mesh as quickly as Moss/Welker did, as Patriots fans have seen repeatedly. In this case, the new receiver they brought in to stretch the field is showing his QB, on film, that he can get open and........ stretch the field. In other words, he's earning the trust of his QB.

That's great. It's about the best you can reasonably expect at this point in time.

Perhaps as it's only June but the part that I found compelling was that on the field, Brady didn't think he got open. Once TB went to the film, Lloyd was open. As long as they continue to develop their timing and keep working hard, there is no reason why they cannot be a prolific combinaton this year.

You could have stopped right there. The rest doesn't matter. The only thing that matters coming out of mini camps is 1)were they injured, 2)are they still on the team. Of course, if people want to get excited about film work on mini camp practice that is their prerogative so feel free to celebrate.

Yes, reasonably expect. Clearly, a lot of posters on this board are anything but reasonable

He already knows more of the offense than Ocho i bet...LOL

Who's excited about the film work? The take away from this is that Brady sees Lloyd getting open even when he thought he wasn't breaking loose and had moved on in his progressions, not that Brady is looking at film.

If you can't figure out that difference, I don't know what to tell you.

I got that feeling Lloyd is going to play a HUGE part towards us winning SB47. Wish we could of gotten him last year tho.... but at least we got him now so let's do this!

In other words is it freaking September yet? Since I finally jumped to DirecTV so I don't have to worry about if the Pats are on local TV here.
