"Flashback to last time Pats played in New Orleans" & Strangely Similar Concerns

It does seem like the last time NE was in NO.

NO won the Super Bowl that season.

Pretty sure it was. They played in Foxboro in '13. The comeback game.

The game in 09 was the Monday after Thanksgiving. My wife and I and about 10 others flew to NO on Friday and came home on Tuesday morning. The game was horrible, but god almighty what a spectacular weekend. I didn't drink afterwards for nearly 2 weeks.

Speaking of 09 I still can’t believe the Colts punted on a chance at 16-0 in front of their own fans. What a bunch of sissies. Hearing the boos was priceless! I’m glad the Saints clown stomped them in the SB.

I hated our 16-0 banner at first but after seeing the Colts do that I appreciated it a lot more. Showed they were man enough to go for it and got the job done and withstood a real challenge from the Giants to do it. We earned it. Not all teams are man enough apparently.

Besides the Colts intentionally losing a regular season game, two things tick me off about that game:

- It gave the Jets a chance to make the playoffs. The week before, Rex was literally crying at a press conference about his team not making the postseason, until someone in the media reminded him they still hadn't been eliminated yet. Manning and the starters play the whole game, the Colts win and the Jets are out of the playoffs.

- The Colts playing their offensive starters the next week against Buffalo so they could reach statistical milestones for the season. Manning, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark were both working on personal or league leading goals. They could have done this at home against the Jets, but they sat out the second half for "safety reasons." Instead, they played in a snow storm on the road so they could get their stats.
