My buddy in the business says it was Jimmy who pushed out Brissett. The story continues to get more interesting...
Sorry, but after reading the ESPN article, I'm just not believing anything anybody says who isn't willing to say it on the record for attribution.

Check back with me if your "buddy in the business" wants to say that publicly.

So:

  1. Brady "demanding" JAG's trade - Refuted by Tom Curran
  2. JAG & Agent turning down multiple extension offers - Refuted by Tom Curran
  3. JAG/TB12 incident - Refuted by Zo
  4. BB/Goodell meeting - Refuted by NFL

Again, ball's in your court, Seth.
Maybe he can go back to his unnamed sources.

If you're talking about his Guerrero affiliation, I'm convinced this is why Brady has even lasted this long.
because of his mind, not the voodoo. He is taking care of himself, to prove the point, it is a self fulfilling prophecy. Regardless of what you think, Alex G. is fruit loops.

Hm, am I trying to read something into it or does Reiss really come over as trying to distance himself from the content of that sham article?

Yes, if by distance you mean make sure no one in the world could possibly think he had anything to do with it or agrees with any of it.

It’s telling that Espn has a local reporter who appears to have solid access yet they ignore him in gathering all of their unnamed source quotes.

BTW, you people who use the Boston Sports Journal need to take a second look. Bedard caping for SHAM last night and then this bit.

Maybe he can go back to his unnamed sources.

Well, I can see how he might respond to the NFL (I have no idea if it's true, but I can see it being said): "I meant the off week LAST season, not this week".

BTW, you people who use the Boston Sports Journal need to take a second look. Bedard couching for SHAM last night and then this bit.

That story's been out there for weeks.

Froob, that is wrong.
I have it from an ironclad, rocksolid unnamed source that Hoyer was the one who pushed out BOTH Brissett and Jimmy G.
And I was proved 100% right. Hoyer only one of those 3 on the Patriots.
He orchestrated the entire thing.

Yeah and I'm sure BB invited Goodell to Nantucket to hang out on the boat.

All part of their strategy. They know Reiss is the only one at BSPN that any self-respecting Pats fan trusts anymore. Keep him out of it so they don't lose any more Pats fan clicks than they already have. Use ****ersham and Van-I-got-nada to get clicks from the other 31.

Which would be prior to Matty P getting off the plane with the clown shirt proudly displayed by the way
But hell if we believe the article belichick probably begged him to take it off and he told him to pound salt.

I would like to thank ESPN for opening my eyes years ago as to how pathetic journalism has become. The scary part is that this sensationalistic BS is not limited to just the sports world.

ESPN is the original fake news. I refuse to give them one click.

its tough but investigative journalism could not exist without anonymous sources..

That said this story is laughable.

See that is the kind of breadcrumb in this giant turd that is most probably true and the reason why Guerrero got removed. But of course those idiots had to construct a grand slam because if it is not earthshattering then nobody will talk about it.

We've got a little CSNNE on CSNNE crime.

It wasn't seriously broached nor was offer made because they knew JG wanted to play, not because of a lack of belief in his ability.

No reason to think it all of a sudden won’t be.
I mean he’ll let someone go with a whole bunch of stories that say after 18 years everyone has lost their mind and are acting totally differently now. Yeah that makes sense.
you read the article i didnt.

Sounds like Colin is getting a bit sensitive here. He normally defends Patriots, but “gotta have that hawt taek be proven correct.”

EDIT: that joke doesn’t even make sense come to think about it. Jeezus Colin.

I can't believe read this garbage. To save you some time that haven't read it I'll go over some of it's stupidity. Enjoy.

"Those interviewed describe a palpable sense in the building that this might be the last year together for this group."

Way to set up the wet dream for the 31 other fan bases.

--------

"That was the same year Brady and Guerrero decided to market their business as revolutionary; the same year that Brady began to speak unwaveringly about playing into his mid-40s; and the same year that Belichick drafted Jimmy Garoppolo out of Eastern Illinois -- the first sign that Belichick was invested in a future that did not include the quarterback who had changed his life and legacy."

Ah yes the first sign that Belichick was invested in a future that did not include Brady by drafting a quarterback . . . like how he also drafted Rohan Davey in 2002, Matt Cassel in 2005, Kevin O'Connell in 2008, Ryan Mallett in 2012, and Jacoby Brissett in 2016. Might as well list all the other quarterbacks that weren't Tom Brady too as signs as Belichick not investing in a future without Brady; Damon Huard, Vinny Testaverde, Matt Gutierrez, Doug Flutie and Brian Hoyer.

--------

"And so after several such incidents, Belichick explained to Brady in early September that many younger players felt pressured to train at TB12 rather than with the team, and asked the quarterback what was going on. Brady said he didn't know anything about any such pressure, according to people briefed on the exchange, and the two men left the meeting without any resolution."

Ok so "according to people briefed on the exchange". This entire article is filled with unnamed sources. This whole thing is filled with speculative BS with no credibility.

--------

"Injuries to his shoulder and Achilles have done more than undermine claims that the TB12 Method can help you play football virtually pain-free. Subtle changes have at times hampered the offense and affected the depth chart. On a fourth-quarter play against the Los Angeles Chargers, for instance, Brady had a clean pocket and a first read open deep, possibly for a touchdown. But Brady got rid of the ball quickly over the middle to receiver Chris Hogan, who had nowhere to run and was hit hard, injuring his shoulder. He missed all but one game of the rest of the season. "Tom was trying to get it out quick," a Patriots staffer says. "As fragility has increased, nervousness has also increased.""

So not seeing a wide open receiver but throwing it to a different receiver, who was also open but couldn't get as many yards as the other receiver, proves that that TB12 method is a sham and that Brady is on the decline. Sounds legit.

--------

"Brady has noted to staff a few times this year that, no matter how many game-changing throws he makes, Belichick hasn't awarded him Patriot of the Week all year."

WTF is "Patriot of the Week"? And if that were a thing can you picture him crying to some random staff member about it? Brady: "I don't get it random staff member, no matter how many game-changing throws I make I haven't been awarded Patriot of the Week! It's a load of crap! Whhhaaaaahhh!!!!". Hilarious.

--------

"And Brady is famously unhelpful toward his backups -- or, at least, a threat like Garoppolo. The two quarterbacks were friendly, but Brady -- like Joe Montana to Steve Young and Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers -- didn't see it as his role to advise Garoppolo, even on matters as trivial as footwork, as nobody had helped him during his climb."

According to who? Source please? "Famously unhelpful towards his backups?". Why have I not heard about this if it's "Famously"? Any sources on the story how Brady turned Garoppolo away for two weeks for treatment at his facility? Hello?

--------

"And why did Belichick practically give away a quarterback whom the coaches saw as a potential top-10 player for much less than he could have gotten last spring? It made no sense.

First off there was no proof that the Pats could get anything better than a 2nd round pick by trading him earlier. Second a 2nd round pick is not practically giving a quarterback away. They hung onto Jimmy as long as they could and traded him because his rookie contract was about to expire. What doesn't make sense now?

"Belichick handled the trade as he always does, by not explaining it to the coaches and by burying them so deep in work that they didn't have time to gossip."

Again WTF is this made up BS? Source please?

--------

This whole article is built on irresponsible, empty, free of credibility BS. "according to a source", "one person inside the building said earlier in the year", "According to staffers in the building", "Belichick was furious and demoralized, according to friends.". Anyone can use these garbage terms to justify anything you write. I could pick apart the rest of the article but this has already gotton too bloated as is.
