At least Eli was always classy and humble - unlike his brother who was a cry baby and blame everyone but himself when he lost a game or played bad.

when Eli gets into the HOF, it wont be because

-he has 2 SB wins
-2 SB MVPs
-Manning name
-played for one of the premier teams in the league

...it will be, above all else, b/c he is the only QB to ever beat BB and TB in a superbowl...and he did it twice

i mean...regardless of all other details, (his level of play, who actually carried that team) don't matter in front of that fact...

So now it's kinda like preseason where winning isn't all that important but it's the regular season where it is but not really because roster evaluations top to bottom and Geno Smith and winning and maybe a 3rd string QB and winning....

Not gonna defend him on that but otherwise I've thought he has generally been a classy player. He did help them win two Super Bowls against greatest dynasty in NFL history.

Giants brass deserves all the criticism they get for such a move.

The Giants are a shipwreck, and this move shows they have no clue what they're doinig.

Eli isn't deserving of being a HOFer, though I admit he might get in. But he's probably the best QB in franchise history (some might say Tittle, but he was only there for a few seasons), and he deserves to be treated better than this.

If they were giving a kid a chance, fine, I get it. But Geno ****ing Smith? **** off. What is the point of this? Unless you're seriously thinking Geno might be the answer, this is pointless.

The proper thing to do in a pointless season is let Eli finish the season, then cut him or trade him to Jacksonville for a 7th or a pick swap so he can be with Coughlin.

The helmet pass and the Manningham sideline throw will always be be etched in my mind as a Pats fan as just brutal memories. Respect to the guy for pulling it off, he made plays that are the black eye of this dynasty, a true competitor. Remarkable somehow he’s not my/our least favorite Manning.
