Now the NFL HOF needs to induct him as well.

I mean, Edelman is my favorite non-Brady player of all time, but I'd be lying if I said I thought he should get in over Vinatieri. Oh well. Let's go squirrel!!!

Well deserved! I'm sure some might gripe that AV should have gotten in first but end of the day they'll all be in. Edelman had a more visible career during and post football and recency bias so he was always going to get more votes.

I was in the camp about Vinitieri getting in first, but that was before I realized that he and Edelman retired at the same time. For some reason I blocked out that he spent even more time with the Colts than he did with the Patriots and retired in 2020.

Vinatieri had some of the most iconic moments in Patriots history (two kicks in the Snow Bowl and two last second Super Bowl victories) compared to Edelman's one in the Atlanta Super Bowl, but I think a receiver is more important component to a team than a kicker. There is a reason there are 29 WRs and only 4 kickers in the NFL HOF.

Congrats Jules! Imagine this guy was taken as a flyer as a QB they would experiment trying to turn into a WR and a punt returner and ended up being one of the best WRs in Patriots' history. I think Morgan, Moss, and Glenn are ahead of him, but I don't know if I could come up with another name.

Let's not leave out his huge catches vs Sea or that he was SBMVP in 53.

Sorry I forgot about that. But I don't think it was iconic in the fact that it is a moment that immediately comes to mind when you think about great Patriots moments.

I am good with it. Congrats Eleven, well deserved.

Gratz to Jules, well deserved...

Knew the vote was going to go his way, based on the poll here... the final tally here was
Edelman 54.5%
Vinatieri 42.9%
Mankins 2.6%

Well-deserved.

I hope the next step is Canton. He might not have the regular season numbers, but his playoff numbers are second to... Rice and that's it, I think.
I think it will take a while but my hope is at some point the Hall recognizes they have a Patriot shortage and then guys with playoff numbers like Willie or Jules might get some consideration.

But of course they won't even put in Harrison so I think we'll be waiting a long time.

I've posting this before. Was at the first pre-season game vs Philly when he returned the punt for the TD ( Belichick to Welker- know who Wally Pipp is?)
wearing Pats garb and the Eagles fan in front of me, turned around and asked, "where do you keep finding these guys?"

Richly deserved.....

Congratulations, Jules. Next stop, Canton, I hope. Jules was a 100% dedicated Patriot. AV is deserving also, and I believe he'll have his day soon.

AV was indispensable but JE was the total package.
