Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post is a nutjob

He basically wrote an article that suggested that the Pats orchestrated Blount shooting his way out of town in Pittsburgh, making the entire league not put in a waiver claim for Blount, and then sign him.

Assuming the Pats even were going to execute this whack job conspiracy, how would they know the Steelers would just cut Blount and not just suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team which would have just docked Blount pay checks? How would the Pats know that Blount would clear waivers especially with two division leaders in the AFC desperately needing RB help? Blount getting cut could have hurt the Pats if Indy or Denver put in a waiver claim for him.

Seriously Rob?

Really?

How would they know?????

You have apparently forgotten who the HC of the NEP is.

It's the Dark Lord of the Underworld, that's who it is, and he knows EVERYTHING, including how others will respond to any circumstance.

Bouchette knows of what he speaks.

The best part is how BB must have telepathically mind melded the Steelers into not giving Blount carries so he would be unhappy.

All a part of The Dark Lord's plan. Who do you think gave him the bud he got popped with last summer? he told him to sign with Pitt, get popped for the cheeb and get Bell into trouble, play poorly and then walk out when they didn't use him, and he would sign him back after he cleared waivers.

He's a fricking genius.

It was kind of low how he spiked Alan Branch's drink, though. And the hypnosis of the entire Tampa Bay front office just has to stop.

Great move. I also like Belichick:
  • Forcing Logan Mankins into decline to pick up Tim Wright on the cheap,
  • Forcing Tampa Bay's initial contract to Darrelle Revis and subsequent regime change, &
  • Forcing the Titans changing their defensive scheme to sit Akeem Ayers.
These are all great inside jobs by Belichick.

Anytime you want to have yourself a 'superior moment' go have look at the mindless dross that passes for forum traffic over at Steelers Universe - to a (wo)man, they are crazy deluded, angry, bitter people - to the point of absurdity.

Some gems:

Yes, he's gone and good riddance to a bad influence on a young player. But the way it happened SHOULD raise eyebrows in the league office. It put one team in a very precarious position and the other* may have gotten away with "cheating"...again.

Did the cheatriots pull a slick one? Probably. Will it come to the light? Who knows?

As I said in another thread on this same subject, I believe in Karma, and we all know that Karma can come back in a very BIG way. Don't know when, or even how, but I say let Karma take care of it.

Of course. An unprofessional player playing for an entire team full of unprofessional players. No one should be shocked.

If tampering occurred and can be proven, the NFL needs to make a MAJOR example of the Pats*.

Appropriate punishment would be a lifetime ban for Belichick and the forfeiture of the entire 2015 draft class. It would be much worse than Bountygate or Spygate, and that kind of hammer would make sure it never happened again

If I am correct that Blount is no longer part of the compensatory pick calculation the Patriots signing Blount will help the Steelers next year since he will not count as a signed free agent for them,

FWIW, I am virtually certain he won't count against New England. That does not necessarily mean he doesn't count against the Steelers.

Honestly, they have a point about the suspension. It wasn't too hard to imagine that the result of the "punishment" of being cut was that he'd end up laughing all the way to the end zone as a Patriot.

While I'm not at all upset about the result, was it really that easy to imagine? Certainly that he would end up on a roster somewhere, but was it really that likely he was going to end up a Patriot, especially with the Donkeys and Colts ahead of them on the waiver wire?

A Steelers forum has been the only forum I have ever been banned from.
That being said the Steelers are a good outfit and shouldn't be smeared too much.

Vrabel. That torques them off.

Article is dopey, but it at least ends with a cool meaningless possible stat.
One more thing: Blount can join the rare group of players who played 17 games in one regular season because the Patriots, who play the Detroit Lions today in Foxborough, Mass., already had their off week.

Looking at the comments to that article was a good reminder that their fanbase is a big reason why I despise the Steelers.

Any time one of those clowns mouths off about spygate I'm happy to remind them that their last playoff appearance was getting their tails handed to them by Tebow... and they still have 0 Super Bowl titles that aren't tarnished by PED cheating or questionable officiating.

Next time you hear one of those yinzers running their mouths, just throw this link at them (Cowher admits to trying to steal signals too):
