Over 500.

Doug Gabriel, over 500 yards.

I'm a Dorsett fan, but 1,000 is expecting too much. Maybe 600-700 is more reasonable.

1,000 yards is waaaaaaay too optimistic but if it had said 600 yards I would take the over. Dorsett is a poor mans cook, he has speed enough to threaten safety’s over the top but for whatever reason doesn’t have the production to make that speed more then a threat. That said I can see him being very streaky with 6 100 yard games and 10 not so much games, depending on the game plan, and if he actually catches the deep ball or two he will see per game. I am glad he is on the roster as he is the only perimeter WR with legit deep speed that came to training camp. I hope he grabs the opportunity in front of him and I think he will just enough to punish teams that play up to take away Gronk and Edelman.

I’m going to go with 711 for luck sake. Hopefully he’s always open!!

Also I’d be completely satisfied with this number, but not surprised if it happened.

If Dorsett hits 1000 yards it means most probably that other key players got injured. My feeling is that 600 yards are a more reasonable mark for him in this particular offense. It is certainly not as flashy as a 1000 yard receiver but his role doesn't require him to be one.

I think he could Jabar Gaffney 2.0 in that he will go from an unremarkable first year with the Pats to a solid second year. Although I think he will be more productive than Gaffney.

No way he will get a thousand yards or more. When Edelman comes back, he will be relegated to #3 WR status and won't be on the field enough. I can see him getting 500-700 yards though if he really has turned the page.

Aside from one season he has averaged 40 catches per season, including a season with 52 and a season with 45.
Chris hogan had 10,41,36 before coming here.
Dorsett has averaged 21 a year with a high of 33.
I have to believe that with Tom Brady throwing him the ball and the opportunity to play he should do better than the 45 and 52 he caught from the likes of Christian ponder, Matt Cassell and Sam Bradford.
Given that our offense value run after the catch and schemes players open in short areas, as well as the attention on gronk Edelman and white, Patterson could get lots of looks
The wild card is if Dorsett has turned into a different player over the off season but that aside, I don’t see how brady would have less success with Patterson than he did with Brandon lafell who went 74-953. Lafell averaged 42 catches a year before arriving here and had never got 50.

Agree on Patterson if they are on the same page. Patterson has great speed and should get open on deep routes. He can also rack up serious YAC.

Predicting good game from Patterson today with 80+ yards and a td.

Is this serious? Edelman and Hogan will take 90% os the snaps. Under 300

1000 is not going to happen.

He's going to get 200+ snaps over the next 4 weeks and assuming the occasional injury here and there, as the WR3 here netting 35 catches and 500yds this year is a very reasonable expectation

Which Edelman are we getting ?

It will take time for him to get back to be the player he used to be (if it happens at all).
Agree. It's going to take some time for Jules to be Jules again.

I think by Halloween or mid November he'll be there.

I’m probably going to regret this prediction but I’ll put him at 750 yds

I'll double down.... Dorsett goes over 2,000 yards!

Based on ...
-- Brady completing 385/580 (66.4%) for 4600 yds (11.9 ypc)
-- Edelman playing only 12 games and not being 100%
-- Gronk being healthy for enough games to make his incentives
-- Burkhead being healthy for 13 games (instead of 10)
-- Michel being eased into the receiving mix over the course of the season
-- Patterson being the #4WR, but getting more touches/game while Edelman is out
-- Recent history of pass distributions

My guess is that TGTs, Receptions and Yards break out something like the following (in order of total tgts):

Gronk = 115 tgts/75 rec (65.2%), 1175 yds (15.7 ypc)
Edelman = 95 tgts/60 rec (63.2%), 600 yds (10.0 ypc)
Hogan = 75 tgts/45 rec (60.0%), 775 yds (17.2 ypc)
Dorsett = 75 tgts/50 rec (66.7%), 580 yds (11.6 ypc)
White = 55 tgts/40 rec (72.7%), 400 yds (10.0 ypc)

This "top five" accounts for 71.5% of all Brady's tgts.

Burkhead = 40 tgts/35 rec (75%), 300 yds (10.0 ypc)
Patterson = 35 tgts/25 rec (71.4%), 275 yds (11.0 ypc)
"Ancillary" = 90 tgts/60 rec (66.7%), 495 yds (8.3 ypc)

"Ancillary" includes Hollister, Allen, Michel, Hill, Develin & McCarron.
