(The CBA section on substance abuse discipline allows Roger to to give a longer-than-standard suspension when DUI has been extreme, and Floyd pled guilty to extreme DUI, not just regular DUI, so Roger has a basis to invoke that.)
The Patriots are sitting on nearly $30 million in cap space which they basically cannot use, and they'll probably be rolling over more than $20 million next year. If they come to Amendola and ask him to take a paycut just to let it sit in Kraft's pocket, he should rightly tell the Patriots to get ****ed after all he's done for the team.
I get that fans assign arbitrary salary values to a player, but that's not the way this works. They signed a contract and they should honor it if they don't want him playing elsewhere in 2017, and they're a much better team with Amendola than without him, and they don't win the 2014 or 2016 Super Bowl without him.

Are you sure about that? I was told we don't win '14 without Butler. But then again, I was told we don't win either without Hightower. Then there's the crowd that says TFB! What about Edelman? Now we've got Amendola? For fans like me, it's about the team. Amendolas production does not match his cost. If we are having a hard time meeting Butlers demands, take a chunk from D.A. and throw it to Butler. The Patriots are sitting on nearly $30 million in cap space which they basically cannot use, and they'll probably be rolling over more than $20 million next year. Superbowls often come down to got to have it plays and amendola has made plenty.
4th down, 2pt conversion, tds..he may never have replaced welker in the production department, but in got to have it plays in the superbowl he surpassed him
Where?Unfortunately, there's a steady stream of dump him comments here every off- season.
Unfortunately, there's a steady stream of dump him comments here every off- season, in spite of his willingness to cut his salary every year. I don't get that at all.
Where?
Yeah, I don't think people have called for his release for years.Certainly not this year. Pats are not going to over pay the market - that is not how they win. The cap space is valuable and they do not use it as a reward.

That's way over the top PT. The Pats paid Amendola handsomely in his first years with the team, way over the production they got for that very limited production (mostly due to injuries). He's done very well here overall. His current cap number is still a product of that first deal. BOTH sides recognize that hat his age, size and injury history that cap number is way past ridiculous. The Patriots are sitting on nearly $30 million in cap space which they basically cannot use, and they'll probably be rolling over more than $20 million next year.
