Do you think the NFL is out to get Cam Newton too?

LMAO, from your own source...
the definition of ridicule

I understand you can't differentiate (or won't)..........but your original use of contempt is inaccurate......you were wrong about that assumption

I think your entire reasoning in this thread is totally ridiculous, but I have no contempt for you.......I don't know you, but you do seem lame

Then you should just stop right there. If I really held any level of contempt for you or the people that I was debating with in this thread, I'd call you idiots. I didn't do that because I'm hoping for a level of discourse that you outlined to me. But then it also wasn't I who turned this personal either. I'll leave you to one guess on who that was.
I said contempt for viewpoints not people. You don't think repeatedly telling someone over and over not only what they think but what they actually did even though they disagreed multiple times is an expression of contempt? Heck, you even wrote "ReverendMaynard will be watching football" in the field below your avatar.

I feel like a victim of microaggression because of this thread.

he thinks he's full of ****......I think he's full of ****.....I think you're full of ****

but I don't hold it against you in any way

Cam has really grown on me over the past few years. He's a great QB and by all indications off the field, he's a great person. So he's younger and shows that he's having fun by doing the dancing. So what? If you don't like it, shut him up. I always found it more fun playing against those kinds of guys than the guys who kept their mouths shut.

I think Cam brings a fun energy to the game. Love watching him play
I have to agree. In my mind he's moved up to number three on the list of top QB's at the expense of Brees and Rothleberger.

The dancing and mouthy comments mean nothing to me.

ridicule - contempt = teasing

Why that would be almost as ludicrous as reading contempt into internet posts, when the person you claim was displaying that contempt insisted he was doing no such thing.

Which led to my own admission that I can never truly know what he is trying to convey, but that it appears to me, and likely others, that he is expressing contempt towards a particular viewpoint. This led to the conclusion that it's likely that either his intentions are being misinterpreted, or we disagree on the meaning of the word contempt.

Either way, you are questioning Kontra's personal truth. You'd better check your privilege.

Christ almighty.

1. You made a halfhearted attempt to discuss my intelligence in your OP. That's what I was talking about.

2. I've told you multiple times now that I hold no contempt for opposing opinions in this thread. You then admitted yourself that you had no clue what I was attempting to convey.

3. I'm trolling ReverendMaynard because he took it upon himself to dislike a few of my posts. There's really nothing more to it than that.

I'll leave it at this...

I can't know for certain what you're trying to convey

So don't read into it anymore than you should. Congrats for successfully derailing the thread, though. I'm done with you and this nonsensical debate now so you can feel free to have the last word on the "contempt" matter (I definitely won't read it). Let me know when you want to get back on topic.

When you look at the lack of consistency or fairness, no one in the world can dispute the NFL plays favorites with players, organizations, etc. It is absolutely fair game to accuse them of dislike and bias towards any player or team and favoritism of others.

This is not normal for sports leagues. The degree of bias so clearly obvious that it's hard to believe this is an even playing field. Some job they've done in upholding THE INTEGRITY OF THE GAME.

I've told you multiple times now that I hold no contempt for opposing opinions in this thread.

Many viewpoints/opinions, both here and elsewhere, are deserving of contempt. The notion that we shouldn't have, and display, contempt for viewpoints/opinions is, itself, worthy of contempt.

I'm not calling it bias, just massive incompetence.

After sincerely trying to understand the opposing viewpoint, it can certainly be reasonable to hold it in contempt. Doing so without any consideration is what I was referring to.

OK. In the future, instead of citing your uncommon combination of high intelligence and creativity and suggesting a means to better employ it, I should simply mock your point of view. Got it.

Of course. Sometimes it's appropriate to hold a viewpoint in contempt. That's not what I was trying to do in this thread, though.

You guys know that there is an ignore feature right?
