Do you enjoy the super bowl when the Patriots are in it?

The only Super Bowl I’ve throroughly enjoyed since the Patriots became great was the Seahawks beatdown of the Broncos. Every other one was stressful, either rooting for the Pats or rooting against AFC rivals.

I'm going to feel like passing out and throwing up come actual game time. That's what watching them in the SB does to me now. I just get so nervous and stressed watching them. When watching, half the time im muting and unmuting the TV when I'm scared of a bad play or watching the game between my fingers hoping they get that crucial 3rd down stop. Yelling and screaming when something amazing or horrible happens. If I watched the game with anyone else it'd probably be a real nightmare to watch with me.

I loving having them in the SB and the feeling when they win is amazing. But Jesus do they wear you the hell out during the game.

Friends ask me to come to their Super Bowl parties or ask me to host one. The answer is always, "If the Patriots are in it, I watch it alone, if they aren't, let's party."

Way too much stress. I'm not fun to be around. I pace, I squat, I swear, it's not pretty.

So, no I don't enjoy them, which is odd, because at the end of the day, I still have work the next morning, people are still eating tide pods so a game shouldn't be that important.

As long as we win then the game is enjoyable. We are due for a comfortable win though.

Do you enjoy sex when your penis is in it?

Much like the Super Bowl a lot of that enjoyment is predicated on attaining the desired finish. The Super Bowl has a lot in common with sex. The wait is endless, the lead in is often tedious, the action is frenzied and passionate and the right ending is a thing of incalculable joy. The big difference is with the afterwards, get a happy ending in the Super Bowl, nobody is in a hurry to leave and damn sure nobody is going right to sleep

The super bowls I experience always go to triple overtime.

I love it infinitely more, I understand the stress aspect but that's what makes it so fun to be a fan of sports /this team.

I absolutely love it when the Pats are in it.

And I love rubbing it in the faces of the haters even more.

One of my Steeler buddies who comes to my house for the game every year, is not coming this year.
Just because the Pats have a chance to tie Pitt for most wins.

That's exactly what happens with me. When the Patriots aren't involved, it is a social affair for me. I have more pure *fun* whether my preferred team wins or loses.

But when NE is in it? Me. Dark room. Food. Beverage. TV.

That's just one of the many perks of being a Pats fan.

My favorite time is the two week lead up to the game. It’s the only time I can relax. When Sunday rolls around I get very serious. You’d think I was actually playing.

The game could be fun if they just had a blowout for once. But especially lately it’s been a heart pounding nerve wracking roller coaster for 4 hours.

These last two wins have been two of the most hysterically happy moments of my life. I don’t know if that’s sad or just honest but I can’t think of anything else in life that has such a huge swing between dismal failure and complete elation.

Maybe getting a job offer. When my son was born it was more relief than sheer joy because I was just glad everything went smoothly.

This whole sports fan thing is weird when you think about it. 97% of NFL fans invest months in following their team only to see it end in failure or heart break. We are the lucky few.

You know what I really enjoyed? The drive in OT against the Falcons. Our offense was like an avalanche rolling downhill. It was a unique feeling, because you knew if you reached the end-zone, you win the Super Bowl. There was no "the other team gets the ball back with time remaining" or anything like that. The end-zone was the end of the season, the championship. And we had all the momentum from that comeback. It just felt like an inevitability, like a progress bar on a computer screen marching to 100%. It was amazing.

I never thought of it that way but you’re exactly right. I was amazingly calm during that drive, it almost seemed inevitable. And knowing that a TD wins it and it’s over was a relief.

Are you guys kidding, the stress and stomach roiling is what makes these great with the knowledge all have been close you should be ready for it. If it's a blowout, great but that feeling of winning a nail biter can't be beat. Its the second best feeling us old guys get in life and you should enjoy it.

I love the two weeks leading up to the game and the forever after a win. But the game is SO stressful and TBH I'm always worried my dad is going to have a heart attack.

I think I'd enjoy it more if we're up 4 scores in the 3rd quarter.
