Do you enjoy the super bowl when the Patriots are in it?

Honestly, the SBs with the Pats have all been fantastic. Require alcohol to watch, but fun.

As long as they win I prefer a close game with clutch play.

Then the Pats are the perfect team for you, at least in the playoffs.

Since Crygate I enjoy blowouts. We just don't have them in the playoffs.

I mean blowouts are also fun but an exciting close win is more enjoyable. If you asked me in a close game with 5 minutes left I’d rather be winning by a blowout because there is no chance to lose. But after the game is over the close wins were more enjoyable.

Better to lose in the AFC championship and flog myself the entire game. 2 weeks for the flesh wounds to heal using leeches and seaweed ... then being rewarded with 2 other teams playing for glory while I gorge my gut with carbs. So enjoyable knowing my team will not lose in the Super Bowl.

Having 5 SB wins in the bank makes it much easier for me to accept the losses. As crushing as those losses in AB7 / AB11 were (lost the 19-0 season and lost 100K by not getting the safety bet in) it's much easier to live with losses now. Everything is icing on the cake (red velvet with blue and white cream cheese frosting).

Yes. A good play by ___________ is nice, but it's EPIC when it's us. Plus the camaraderie I enjoy with my buddies and family, screaming and yelling when they do well is really nice. It's muted and bland when it's two other teams.

I know it gets repeated often, but geez, the Pats have been in some doozies. From the beginning the Pats' SBs have been labeled the best ever, until the next one outdoes the last one.

You know what I really enjoyed? The drive in OT against the Falcons. Our offense was like an avalanche rolling downhill. It was a unique feeling, because you knew if you reached the end-zone, you win the Super Bowl. There was no "the other team gets the ball back with time remaining" or anything like that. The end-zone was the end of the season, the championship. And we had all the momentum from that comeback. It just felt like an inevitability, like a progress bar on a computer screen marching to 100%. It was amazing.

I am the reverse. I no longer enjoy SBs we aren't in. Absolutely ridiculous that TB and BB have gotten us into 8 in 17 years (16 with Brady playing and starting most of the yr)

No matter what way any games go, this one included, it's all been incredible to be a part of. The last two SB wins alone were unbelievably exciting. They keep outdoing themselves and I hope that somehow they top the last one.

It's insane to think about this. Even the years we didn't go, half of those years I can't believe we didn't go (2006, 2010, 2015 come to mind right off the bat).

I haven't watched a Super Bowl we haven't been in since 2008. Just don't care. But if we make it, it's torture, especially the two weeks leading up to it. Just play the ****ing game already.

I agree, although I was a touch worried when they tried to force the 2nd pass to Bennett. It was close to a pick.

Those types of wins in general are the ones you look back on and appreciate. But god damn, are they stressful when you’re watching them. Especially when they come in the Super Bowl.

I get really tired of the 2 week buildup and I find the game incredibly stressful, but also incredibly exhilarating (provided we win.). A loss, likewise, is as painful as just about anything.

I'm at the point now where I wish it was sunday, this week has been going by really slow.

I remember turning to my wife when the Pats won the toss and saying "it's over"

Alcohol, tablets, food. That’s my plan for this years Super Bowl. The stress of watching it is horrible, I have to walk around the house to calm down and settle my nerves

#5 immunized me against the funk I would go into after a loss, so I'm grateful for that, but yes, I will be hoping for a comfy lead type of game so I can enjoy it live.

It's okay not good but okay. I'll still watch it but it just seems like something is missing. Especially because most of the times we get eliminated early it is in the AFC Championship game.

I think the brews I imbibe in tend to relax me as I'll knock down a few in 6 hours at the party.

And after winning SB49 it is all icing on the cake too.

Going into this one, I feel no matter the outcome, this team will always show up and make me proud.

We need the extra week to have time to re-watch the videos from the previous wins. It's getting more difficult each year, even for retirees.
