But it was in the upper 30's-lower-40's all night.
Which is a lot different than the, presumed, 68-72F temperature that the balls were inflated at. Someone did the math earlier in the thread about how much air pressure would be lost.

Did anyone post the story about the Panthers daring to warm up the footballs earlier this season?

Nobody cares about the Panthers. They don't have the success that we do.

I am googling key words for it, but am getting nothing.

Why does it seem like every time the Patriots succeed, the NFL has to raise controversy like this?

And I know they know even though the accusations are false that an angry public is just waiting for a chance to discredit the Patriots and demean them to a band of cheaters.

People hate seeing the success of others. That's what this all boils down to.

Of course not. It's the wrong Team That Starts with a P.

Well, let me do the honors:

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings played their coldest home game in 38 years on Sunday, when they beat the Carolina Panthers in 12-degree temperatures at TCF Bank Stadium.

As both teams dealt with the freezing temperatures, Fox cameras showed sideline attendants using heaters to warm up game balls, which is against league rules. NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said Monday morning on NFL Network that officials warned both the Vikings and Panthers not to heat up the balls during Sunday's game, and would remind teams this week not to heat game balls.

....spy-gate ...

What about the fact that the Patriots cameraman was wearing blue and holding a camera the size of a Winnebago in plain view of the world? Hardly seems like the act of someone who thought they were being sneaky. ....

Great post!

Just wish you had referenced the taping incident as CAMERA-gate.

Isn't that what it was?

In fact, by asking such a simple question and pointing out the obvious, you clearly demonstrate why the negative word 'spy' should not be used in this context.

So, please consider not parroting what the mostly misguided media and haters chant.

Thanks!

There was about a 30 second stoppage in play during the game when the referees waited for a new ball to arrive and then exchanged the ball for the one on the LOS. I wonder if that is what the fuss is all about.

The Patriots have not even be ACCUSED of anything by anyone with any knowledge of the actual events and facts. The league investigates balls that are taken out of play. Some idiot reporter takes that to mean the Patriots did something ridiculous, stupid and illegal. The league is investigating the football, not the Patriots.
No true Patriot fan would respond with "I'm sure we did it" so I conclude you are just a troll.

I guess I can still claim to be a true patriot fan, because I never said "I'm sure we did it". I am not sure, I actually said "I am betting we did it", meaning I think there is a good chance we did.

I've been to every home playoff game since I was 15, including last night. I think I can call myself a fan at this point. I am hungover, I'm tired, and I just want this thread to die. I would love this investigation to find that they weighed the balls wrong, and nothing untoward occurred, or that it was was actually Pete Carroll trying to frame his former team, and as such he is forced to sit out of the Superbowl.

Can we all just agree on that? Let's call it a day.

My opinion is that there is a good chance the thing for which they are being investigated for, they did. It's my opinion, I don't know if they did, and you don't know they didn't. We have the same set of facts, and we are drawing different conclusions, THAT'S OK.
You're probably right. Bill's been noted for being a nefarious character. He even got caught wearing sneakers with no socks once.

This is such ********. If we win the superbowl we will be accused of some how killing Kennedy

Half these c0cockeyed conspiracy theories are started by envious NY Jets fans.

They are incensed that Revis made it to the big game and loves playing for the Patriots.

Now, 2 former Jets Head Coaches will play each other in the Super Bowl.

Betcha this is why. Confusion in the Patriots world is cheating.

There is nobody I would rather have as a coach during this BS than Belichick. He will keep his guys focused on the game. He has a lot of experience. When it comes out that this is a ******** story with no legs, the only ones who have wasted time on it are the media and the fans. The Patriots players? No. Not with our coach at the helm.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how they supposedly deflated the balls. All I'm hearing is the same crickets that I hear whenever I ask someone how taping from the sideline helped them during a game.

Sliding on rhetoric?

Bullspit. If you wanted it to die you wouldn't have come in here and said you bet we did it.

I would love this investigation to find that they weighed the balls wrong, and nothing untoward occurred, or that it was was actually Pete Carroll trying to frame his former team, and as such he is forced to sit out of the Superbowl.
The 'investigation' will find that the ball was or was not deflated due to the elements.

Can we all just agree on that? Let's call it a day.
Then stop posting on the topic.

Just another concern troll trying to rain on the parade. If you're a Pats fan we don't need opposition trolls.
