Damien Harris speaks out about the dysfunction on the Patriots offense in 2022

You doubt anything that doesn't make Bill look bad.

Whether he could have sustained it or not they never should have looked back...

And what happened after that?

He sucks and always did. Wasted pick by Bill in the draft and I said that at the time it was made.

You're saying Mac will be good now that he is in a better system with better coaches... own it.

Mac could end up being good in a better system that builds around him. He may not be. But he also might be broken beyond repair at this point too.

The fact is we never got to know what Mac Jones could have been if they tries to develop him properly and build around him. Unfortunately, the Patriots did what a lot of bad teams do with young QBs - put them in a position to fail.

Mac didn't have the mental toughness to handle adversity which is why I am not sad to see him go, but he also had the deck stacked against him. You can admit that and still think he would have sucked either way.

He went back to the bench... where Mac should have stayed and never returned.

Oh please... this isn't the 80's where Jim Everett is getting slaughtered and going through multiple surgeries and concussions.

Mac sucks... maybe one day he'll mature and handle adversity better, but right now he's a whiner who couldn't recognize a blitz at the line of scrimmage and had a bad habit of throwing to the other team.

He went back to the bench because he doesn't belong in the NFL and we saw plenty more evidence of that last season. Like I said above any offense that features Zappe starting isn't a serious NFL offense. With all Jones faults he was still the best QB on the roster.

But that didn't stop Bill from deliberately egging on a QB controversy here... weird.

We get it, you don't like Zappe. You mention him whenever possible. He was far superior to Mac with the same disastrous coaches and personnel around him in 2022 and got benched anyway.

Mac should have been benched. He led the entire league in interceptions when he got hurt. Assuming Kraft insisted Bill give Mac another chance or hundred chances it was wrong. Mac sucked.

It's not I don't like him I just like QB's who are good playing for my team much better than QB's who suck. Especially if said QB's who suck have legions of vocal fangirls.

He was not better than Jones actually. Not at all, even in his "good" 2022 season. Moot point now but it's a shame that Bill didn't draft someone who could really be a viable QB backup or more like Sam Howell was.

Bill drafted and played Jones because he chose to, it's all on him. Full stop.

You're obsessed with telling us how terrible Zappe and his 8 career starts is... just stop. We read this board daily.

Just like you're obsessed with telling us how BB was responsible for everything that went wrong despite reports from the contrary and Kraft's own proclamation back in 2021 that things had changed.

See this is why I don't take you seriously.

There were so many things working against Mac that Belichick created. The o-line was a disaster the last two years with last year being worse than the year before. The Pats had no weapons for him to throw to. Belichick fueled the fire of a QB controversy in 2022 rather than doing what a good head coach does and squelches it even if his starting QB is really on thin ice and in danger of being pulled. Every expert mocked the Patricia offense for being too simple with poor route running and with no one seeming to know where they are supposed to go. The Patricia/Judge thing was a disaster. One of the biggest under the radar issues was getting rid of Hoyer based on a bogus injury because he questioned Patricia's offense. Not ever giving him a 3rd down back which was so key during the Brady era (Faulk, White, Vereen, Lewis, Woodhead, etc.). I could go on with the tings.

I cannot think of a single QB over the last two years who had a worse situation than Mac Jones. Many unbiased observers agree.

I admit he did not handle the adversity the way a starting QB should. In fact, he handled it horribly at times. That makes him untrustworthy because you have to trust your QB to be as cool as ice in the most pressure situations. But to dismiss how the Patriots did everything possible to ruin this guy like most bad teams do is ridiculous.

Again, the two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can believe Mac Jones would have sucked even if he was playing for the 49ers and still believe the Patriots put him in a horrible position and did everything possible to destroy him.

Funny how you kept talking up Zappe and told me to be here after the Chargers game... then when Zappe was shut right the eff out by the worst defense in the league you were nowhere to be found... he blows. Thankfully that too should be moot now.

Bill had final say on everything. All of it. It was his team. Unless there was a GM nobody knew about all decisions good or bad are on him.

Team Bill to the rescue!

Was Zappe far superior? His last two games he threw 5 INTs and 0 TDs and he was lucky it wasn't about 8 or 9 INTs. There were several dropped INTs that should have been INTs. He was horrible too.

If Jones ex teammates are calling out Bill for setting Jones up to fail.. then he was set up to fail.

And yeah he's no leader which is why he probably won't be starting anymore in this league. Leaders step up with adversity and he can't/didn't.

Oh no...

Mac was a puzzy who slapped opponents in the balls, blamed teammates and ran up the backstairs to complain to the owner that his boss was being hard on him. But you think Mac was good?

So Mac will take Trevor Lawrence's job in a pretty good situation in Jacksonville... got it.

I'm making a list of you guys so can have a big laugh at this later.

The Zappe lovers talk up his 2022 season... he was set up 1st down at midfield vs Packers needing only a FG to win and went 3 and out resulting in a loss... he was ok in the Cleveland game but the defense and running game won that one and Zappe's numbers were aided big time by YAC - I believe it was the most in the league that week we all remember the big one to Smith that was almost all YAC... and then in the Lions game the defense got 6 fourth down stops and Zappe only got them to 1 passing TD from that. Don't see why Jones or any other QB couldn't have done that and more. Then the Bears fiasco... nuff said. Mike White and Cooper Rush both looked way better than Zappe did in their short stints as backups... The idea he was awesome in 2022 is way overstated.

I think he will be a starter again some day. The question is whether he will remain a starter.

His college roommate and guy out of the NFL who is looking for attention... laughable.

I literally said I don't care if it's Zappe or Grier... I said anyone but Mac. You're a liar.

Zappe's stats as a starter at that point were what they were, I didn't create them.

Collaboration.

Nah you were waving the pom poms for Zappe big time.

He sucks. Tebow had over a 100 rating in that playoff game vs Pitt... guess that means he was great too.
Collaboration.
Denial... not just a river in Egypt

He's got a lot of work ahead of him for that to happen. New attitude too. He can't be "one of the guys" if he wants to lead.
