What're chances of "full recovery" at this point? What even is a "full recovery"?

Does that terminology suggest:

"can resume professional sports career?"

Or is it

"Can manage and sustain normal bodily function without the assistance of medical equipment?"

Just curious - I know we have some folks here with decent medical knowledge.

God... If I'm wondering these questions, I cannot imagine being family...
If he has a full recovery eg walking talking with full cognative abilities i don't he would resume playing in the nfl do to an abundance of caution. Although teddy b came back after having a stroke so you never know

Very cool

Been some recognizable names that have donated:
Chris Jericho, Christian McCaffery, Rudy Giuliani, Andrew Whitworth, Soloman Thomas, Lawrence Guy, Myles Bryant, Brian Hoyer, Trey Lance

It's over 4.2M now. (3.3 million raised in under 24 hours.

They have to comply with HIPPA.
Nothing to do with the question being asked. I was referring to the Doctor giving the FAMILY updates and timeframes for the condition specifically.. Pretty sure that HIPAA doesn't have anything in it about mandatory waiting periods before telling the family anything. But thanks. REALLLY Helpful..

Not having experienced a heart attack or having been old enough to understand what happened to my grandparents when they had theirs 30 some years ago, is it normal for there to have been no update on a patients condition after 12+ hours for something like this?

I know there was one that supposedly game from his Local Marketing guy last night, but then we had reports from the team and the NFL contradicting that.
I would think it's up to his family to decide what information is provided to the public.

Nobody knows where the directive on "5 minutes" came from. I am no Goodell or NYJ-FL fan, but logically, it did not come from NY, that quickly. More likely a bad decision by an on-field ref not grasping the seriousness of the issue and treating it like any other cart-off injury.

I rewatched that portion and Aikman literally said “we are hearing from NY that the teams will have 5 minutes” (para).

Edit: Just saw someone posted the clip above too.

I am sure the 5 minute warm-up is standard procedure for a prolonged delay (injury, lightning, power failure, etc.). Once the seriousness of the situation became apparent and got processed, they figured it out.

I despise NYFL, Goodell, and Vincent as much as anyone, but this is looking for a reason to be upset.

Probably correct but why lie about it? Vincent is obviously lying because two things happened: players were seen warming up and Vincent said they were in constant communication w/ refs ear piece. Though I agree about the finally figured it out part (though it's alluded the decision came from coaches/players not NFL), it's the lying pos Vincent to cover his bosses ass that's the issue.

They lie because that is what they do.

d%#*!@t, don't make me try to defend those scumbags! LOL.

I used to think Tomlin wasn't a great coach and was just a cheerleader player's coach who did less with more but after these last few years I have come to respect him as much as any coach in the league. He always keeps his teams in contention and had to deal with major divas like Roethlisberger, Joey Porter, Antonio Brown, Leveon Bell, and I am sure a dozen others. This clip below is one of the things that I really respect about Tomlin. He genuinely seems to care about the players he coaches.

I am not a fan. I think the problems you speak of are a direct result of his hands off approach. With that said, he does have them in the mix every year. That's a good franchise that is always in contention, and that's not an accident. To your point, he deserves a large measure of credit.

That's pretty much it, though. The overall quality of NFL coaching is so low that guys who can simply avoid ruining talented rosters are automatically top 5.

I guess the issue is that it should have been rather obvious this was no regular delay. (In fairness, I was tied up doing something with some buddies, heard what happened through the grapevine and pulled up a stream up after Hamlin was already removed from the field. So I missed the sequence of events as they transpired in real-time and thus don't have the best informed perspective on how it went down).

For instance, Bayless' tweet, I thought was perfectly fine. That IMO is looking for something to get upset about. He expressed a perfectly reasonable (and not particularly harsh) sentiment.

The league, OTOH, gets zero benefit of the doubt for me. They should be held to a higher standard and should have better evaluated the situation, even if that meant delaying announcing a formal resumption.

In light of the fact that they are very clearly lying about their behavior, I think people do have the right to get offended. Had the NFL came out and owned their actions: "We initiated standard warm-up procedure per NFL protocol, however it quickly became clear that given the nature of what occurred, it would not be appropriate to continue the game. This was a poor judgment on our behalf and we apologize for, and regret, not taking a better course of action".

... instead they did the most on-brand NFL thing and told lies like the dirty scumbags they are. Like I said, no benefit of the doubt to the NFL, and they proved why.

Wow…never knew about that. Major respect to Coach Tomlin.

I see my post got the axe. But the screenshot is mightier than the delete button.

Is it five minutes from then? Or five minutes after the player is on their way to the hospital? Or is it five minutes from some time after everything is stabilized?

And was the league stating the call or the SOP?

The whole "5 minutes" thing still hasn't been sorted out. No one knows where it came from. The League Front Office is stating that THEY didn't say that. No one has confirmed that the Head Referee or the On-Site League official stated it.

For all we know, a reporter misquoted Diggs and made assumptions about where it came from.

Players were seen warming up. Apparently, Diggs was heard trying to rally his teammates, saying remain focused. It quickly fell apart as players weren't having it. Then the coaches stepped in. There isn't any doubt the league wanted the game to resume. The players/coaches said no.
