Sports media only knows one thing - hyperbole.
I hated the talk after game 5, and I hate the talk after game 6. Two days ago, Lebron was a choke-artist. Now, he's Michael Jordan.
The entire ESPN crew is terrible.
As for the actual basketball game - I do have to hand it to Lebron. I was actually impressed with him last nite. Normally I find his game relies so heavily on rule-bending that I want to vomit, but I've never seen his jumper or his perimeter play so consistent as last nite. If he continues that, he is an unstoppable force that simply cannot be defended.
That said - outside of Lebron, no one on the Heat showed up until the 4th quarter, and the Celtics had ample opportunity to keep themselves in that game despite his onslaught.
Consider the 4 point swing with Rondo missing a layup then Bass fouling Wade with .3 left - or the 5 point swing with Pierce missing a layup and Chalmers burying a three on the other end.
The Celts didn't execute, missed open shots, were terrible on fast breaks, could not get themselves to the line, were not strong enough in the face of contact, careless with the ball, and lacking energy for stretches. All-in-all, it was a terrible night.
I hope Game 7 is a more competitive game. I think it will be. I won't make predictions. If there's one thing I've learned about these two teams in the last two years it is that they are pretty close talent-wise, and the game oughta reflect that. It's not worth making bold predictions when it will come down purely to execution from both sides on Saturday nite.
