C's vs Heat

LeBron was amazing Kontra. That said as amazing as his performance was the entire Celtics team were equally inept.

Game 7. It's all on the line.

Magic Johnson thinks that their legs are tired and that Game 7 will be a blowout. Here I am as he is saying that...

That series is over IMO

Heat took all momentum...and will head to another finals

luckily OKC will destroy them

Magic predicting a blow out..could very well be..not sure if i will watch

OKC is going to destroy whomever is going to come out of the East. As I said, both teams are playing for the "privilege" of getting pasted by them.

Not sure I agree with the tired legs more the C's missed a plethora of wide open shots, missed easy tips in, committed countless turnovers and simply couldn't defend LeBron. The shots he was making were excellent.

Everything Miami touched turned to gold tonight. Conversely the Celtics laid a monumental egg.

Only thing going for the C's is that they can't play much worse in game 7..and lebron won't do that every game. They have won 1 in that building so they will have confidence.

Plus..it's hard to beat the heat 4 in a row let alone 3..so another thing going for them

But this reminds me too much of that LA finals..

Glad i was sitting in a MRI machine rather than watch that crap

What I want to know is how/why did the Celtics suddenly decide that offensive rebounding isn't part of the game? It seems that every time someone launched a jump shot, at least three other Celtics were already running to the other end of the court. And then once they got there, they didn't play defense worth sh!t. All Miami had to do was wait under the basket. :bricks:

That LA finals was pretty much set in stone when Perkins got that ACL? injury.
Lakers dominated with their bigs in game 7 in the second half, and the refs made a lot of bogus calls in the 4th quarter.

In any event, I can only hope that game 7 proves to actually be competitive, but the Heat have gained back the momentum and there's always the fear of one of the Heat's stars playing lights out as Lebron did tonight.

As an eternal pessimist, I've already ceded this series to the Heat.

It's been a problem for some time. Rarely do the C's have someone waiting in the paint to contest the rebound. It's one of the reasons why I think OKC will wipe the floor with them if they progress.

But it still reminds me of that even though there were no major injuries in this one...up 3-2 and lose the series...which i think happens on sat

could have been the last time they all play together in that building..

lmao you haven't been right about anything in this series so im a bit more optimistic. its one thing to make predictions but to say that one team either one has no chance in any game is silly. and momentum doesnt carry over from one game to the next. i was watching this series all nice and calm like a normal person for once. i didnt think the celtics were going to win the series. i was hopeful but realistic. then they went and won game 5 and sucked me in and like a ahole i started to dream of the possibilities. when will i learn?

They sucked us all in...and momentum does carry over

If momentum carried over the C's would have buried the Heat tonight. There's one game left. It's a flip of the coin given this series.

Well a rough night for sure ... my only question is why Doc didn't try going big with Hollins/KG or Stiemsma/KG. Biggest change I saw was the Heat were slowing Rondo down at the top of the key ... someone is going to have to step up and help Rondo deal with that defense as it slowed our 1/2 court offense to a crawl with no rhythm.

I'm sure Doc will have some new looks for tomorrow. If LeBron plays like he did last night again I am not sure we have a solution for that. Credit to him for playing like a champion last night. The Heat played with a defense that showed our age ... credit to Spo for a good game plan.

The underrated thing that our defense did was let Rondo be a scorer and focus on slowing down the rest of the Big 4. Didn't hurt that Pierce was extraordinarily off either. But that might be the best solution. Give Rondo all the open looks that he wants and bottle up the rest of the team.

They did that after they met him at the top of the key with 2 defenders. It's a strategy the Sixers used at times in their series. With Ray Allen off it makes it tough for Rondo. If I'm Doc I play Pierce at the 2 and go with a front court of Hollins, Garnett and Bass ... that will help a ton and give rondo more room. Let Ray Allen give Pierce a break as Miami has negated his play with ease anyways. Putting Garnett at the 3 moves Bosh away from the rim.

That sounds like the best gameplan as well. However, Bosh can still do a ton of damage 10 feet away from the rim. It was clear how, in extended minutes, he made LeBron's life that much easier last night.

"He was absolutely fearless tonight, and it was contagious," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "The way he approached the last 48 hours, and not only LeBron, but everybody else. Nobody likes getting dirt thrown on your face before you're even dead. He showed great resolve."

Unfortunately, this is what the pundits are now doing to the Celtics.

Sports media only knows one thing - hyperbole.

I hated the talk after game 5, and I hate the talk after game 6. Two days ago, Lebron was a choke-artist. Now, he's Michael Jordan.

The entire ESPN crew is terrible.

As for the actual basketball game - I do have to hand it to Lebron. I was actually impressed with him last nite. Normally I find his game relies so heavily on rule-bending that I want to vomit, but I've never seen his jumper or his perimeter play so consistent as last nite. If he continues that, he is an unstoppable force that simply cannot be defended.

That said - outside of Lebron, no one on the Heat showed up until the 4th quarter, and the Celtics had ample opportunity to keep themselves in that game despite his onslaught.

Consider the 4 point swing with Rondo missing a layup then Bass fouling Wade with .3 left - or the 5 point swing with Pierce missing a layup and Chalmers burying a three on the other end.

The Celts didn't execute, missed open shots, were terrible on fast breaks, could not get themselves to the line, were not strong enough in the face of contact, careless with the ball, and lacking energy for stretches. All-in-all, it was a terrible night.

I hope Game 7 is a more competitive game. I think it will be. I won't make predictions. If there's one thing I've learned about these two teams in the last two years it is that they are pretty close talent-wise, and the game oughta reflect that. It's not worth making bold predictions when it will come down purely to execution from both sides on Saturday nite.

Your game 6 was essentially a bizarro carbon copy of our game 5.
