Could Ultimate revenge be: Suspension, then Championship?

I want the suspension revoked again, but it not revenge could be sweeter. Just picture this.

Garoppolo in the first four games puts up top ten passing stats, maybe Brady injured a game and he does well. Patriots go on to win SB. In front of the world and Goodell, Bradys hints the "rest" factored in this championship. Kraft states this is the most meaningful championship to him. Belichick hints Garoppollo is just getting warmed up. All this after Goodell drops the ball yet again on another Ray Rice type situation.

This might be reaching, but I want Hatroits feel like the Patriots are like Jason of Friday the 13th - keeps coming back. For them to know they were clearly the best and let it eat on them.

It should have no effect whatsoever in the playoffs. If the Pats have a SB worthy team, hell, the suspension could even help a bit by letting Brady play a little less and be fresher come January. He is approaching 40.

Where the suspension could come into play obviously is whether or not it hurts their record enough that they don't win the division. I know some say projecting opponents and strength-of-schedule is dumb, but the AFC East has one heck of a tough road this season. It's not likely we'll have a wildcard team this year. If the Jets, Bills or Fish (lol yeah right) can win 11+ games while the Pats struggle out of the gate...?

Still though, odds have to be in the Pats favor if they can even win 2 of the first 4. Just makes it more interesting.

Yes, many of the opposing fanbases don't seem to take into acct the fact that the first 3/4 games are at Gillette, which is going to be huge in this instance. I agree with you that a 2-2 record should be just fine, even if some AFCE team starts off 3-1 or 4-0. Being a game or two behind with 12 to play isn't a terrible position to be in, even though it's far from "ideal."

I think the major question with your team is at the position of QB. If Fitzpatrick returns, the Jets are much more formidable. As a matter of fact, I'm hoping that he doesn't cave in and take less money because it dramatically weakens one of our biggest rivals. I knew last year that the addition of Todd Bowles (good coach + a stand up guy), Brandon Marshall, Fitzpatrick, etc was going to make them a pain in the ass.

I just can't take the Bills or Fins seriously at this point in time, although anything can happen, as we've seen many times. I'm not as sure as you are that an AFCE team can't gain a wild card spot, even with a 9-7 record.

Well the Jets sure aren't starting 4-0. Once I noticed our opponents I was worried about 2016. Then when the schedule was released... that was like a kick to the balls. The first 6 games suck. Not to mention 6 of the first 9 on the road. I'd be beyond thrilled with a 3-3 start.

Miami? OK, I don't take 'em seriously anymore. (Not sure if I ever did.)

Buffalo though could be decent. Still think Rex is good and they supposedly had a good draft. So they're certainly no pushovers.

Pats? Granted the Arizona game is probably a loss. Would've been tough even with Brady. The other three aren't nearly as bad. Houston and Buffalo could be challenging, but I'd be betting on NE in NE. They still have to be considered the top of the division even w/o Brady for 4 games.

And that's where Geno comes in.
I'm really hoping Fitz doesn't come back. If he does, of course I'll be rooting for him, but we've seen the best he can do with an easy schedule and good team around him. I honestly believe Geno can do better. Even if it's a bit messier at times.

If not though, and Geno blows, it's still better than wasting time/money with a career journeyman who has never made the playoffs. Solid backup? Sure. Starter? No thanks. I'd rather try and fail with younger guys 'til one sticks.

The corruption of the NFL* needs to be clearly exposed for all to see.

If the Pats even go 2-2 during the first four games of the season, they have a good shot at the #1 seed. The AFC doesn't look all that impressive this season.

Why not revisit the Rats' tampering wrist slap and impose a penalty in line with what non-favored teams get?

Also, a return of the 1st round pick stolen from the Pats from CameraPlacementGate.
