Wow. That is some ******* shutdown defense. I'm really glad my two deflections were on 3rd-downs.

Although they look a lot more like jarring hits than 'deflections'. lol

too close for comfort...

hopefully it was just a single game thing...a coincidence

otherwise our next 3 games are going to be.....bloody

We've upset teams before, hopefully we can do it again.

Worth repeating: IF YOU CAN BOOST, BOOST. NOW IS THE TIME.

Set to play on Hard, etc.

The entire secondary should be set to Wrap Up. We can't afford any missed tackles for fluke TDs. In fact, the entire team should be set to Wrap-Up.

Everything I've read is that tackling is a waste of points right now. If you set to wrap up and have ~20 in tackling you'll miss between 1-2 tackles a season. This is confirmed by multiple people on another site for my other team.

I don't know the answer to your exact question, though. Force fumbles is a scary setting.

Tank, Pietro, and Kazenzakis have 25-27 in tackling, and they've missed maybe a combined 3 tackles all season, so I cna definitely confirm that myself. They're not even set to wrap-up, either, which is probably why they've all forced fumbles.

Check it out, kicky mcboot got a tackle:

Can Funke get in on STs for the next game? His 57 speed can surely help somewhere. I want to beat these ****ers.

HOLY CRAP!

Looking at Cav Troopers stat line, I was like "4 tackles, nice, not great"

then I saw this:

My first safety! Wooooo! Somehow it didn't also register as a sack, too

EDIT: Tobias - I noticed that on my one PD, it really wasn't a PD, but more of a jarring hit that broke the ball loose, also.

Pio has been boosted, he's ready for the big showdown. Just too bad he's like 80 XP from getting to level 16, so close.

Done. I'm sure it'll help a lot. Pietro's 51 speed has been good for about 3-4 ST tackles per game since I put him on the squad, so your tackles should jump up considerably.

Just be prepared, though, that it will take a big hit on your stamina.

That's OK. I'll train on 18/18 for two days and play on Relaxed for our 2nd to last game if I have to. Thanks, hope it helps.

Yup, it's best to train on relaxed to get up to full energy for the games.
Tough, tight win there. Only 8-3.
Hopefully our upcoming opponents won't be as tough.
Their defense shut down our offense pretty good. We only managed two field goals, and the safety was a defensive score.

Cool! We really need a backup DE!

Nice game guys, that was a tougher one than I expected. Dunno what I should have done different tactics-wise. I changed up how much running up the middle and the outside we did, normally we have a higher percentage one way. I left our passing settings the same... Maybe we're getting figured out on offense?

Good thing our defense is Godly.

It was indeed a tougher game than expected when looking at their record. But you also can't help but notice that their defense has pitched 5 shutouts this season already. So their D can play at a pretty high level.

Nope, they'll be tougher. Hopefully we can take 2 of 3- I'm really doubting that we can win em all.

Hey guys. Thanks for the invite. Looking forward to this .

Quick couple of questions. I'm sure a lot of this has been covered, but this thread is pretty long.

I'm level 1 (DE), and I haven't spent any flex points. If I understand correctly, I shouldn't spend any at all until the end of this season, once I've had a chance to level up. Is that right?

I've spent my skill points, so I think I'm OK there for now. And I'm going for intense training for Strength right now. Any other quick tips for a newbie are appreciated. And finally, I assume that I don't have to enable anything to be an active backup on the team - the GM does that? Thanks again!

If you want Cav to do the same thing, go ahead. I'll do the 18/18 and play on relaxed, too. I have a 48 speed, FWIW.

Brisbane Bandits coming up. Their offense imo is only average-above average however their defense is stifling. They have pitched 4 shutouts this season and the points allowed in their other games: 3, 3, 3, 6, 6, 9, 14, 16. Their only weak links appear to be their outside linebackers who are only level 12 and 13 respectively. Perhaps we would be successful attacking their D on outside runs and quick slants?

I'm still waiting for an updated contract for Stanley Steamer. Will need 50k to buy the level 16 equipment.

With our defense, 14 or 16 might be enough. Any insight as to how those teams got those points against them.

It's the defending champs, this should be a great game.

Looking at their depth chart, a number of their backups are higher level than their starters (as of this morning). I saw this at TE, FS, SS, and CB. When most teams are getting worse with their subs, they're getting better at a lot of positions. Tough depth on that team.

I think that's a tactic to get your 'ranking' to show up as a lower number, or something.

Yes, if we win, it will be an upset. That's why we need anyone who has boosts left to use them, make sure their tactics are set appropriately, hopefully managed their energy right, and are set to play on Hard for the game.

We've upset teams before, we can do it again.

I considered that, but expected that the game would evaluate the overall quality of the team and not just the starters. Maybe not.

And we're playing at home, so I hope that helps us. I'd love to end their win streak!

By the way, I leveled up overnight and tried to assign points to the "cover up skill", but I'm not at the required level. Does anybody know what the minimum level is for "cover up"? I'm guessing 16.

Do you have points in the skills prior to Cover Up? It's a tree. You don't have to be a certain level, but you have to start from the left and work your way to the right.

You have to have at least 1 point in a box to be able to put 2 in the next.
