It's easy, and only takes a few moments. It will be an accomplishment to actually break up a Allen to Diggs completion for a change.. I don't believe revis started his rookie season?Revis didn't wow people his rookie year and I see no reason why Gonzelez will either in this dominant passing NFL.
Randy Moss burned him for TD in the spygate game in NY. Early in the season. I was there. It will be an accomplishment to actually break up a Allen to Diggs completion for a change.. I don't believe revis started his rookie season?
Rookies are rookies and will ALWAYS make mistakes, so I is really unfair of us to see a odd bad play and think that is how it is going to be for them next 10 years. Over time those rookie CB's who work at it. Who become students of the game will learn what tells receivers have or what their favorite route combinations are. THOSE become effective CB'sRevis didn't wow people his rookie year and I see no reason why Gonzelez will either in this dominant passing NFL.
Absolutely right I just remembered that after I sent the post.. randy had 181 that day right? I remember revis and thr jets saying they didn't know wich moss they would see.Randy Moss burned him for TD in the spygate game in NY. Early in the season. I was there.
You never saw a parking lot clear out so fast after the game.Absolutely right I just remembered that after I sent the post.. randy had 181 that day right? I remember revis and thr jets saying they didn't know wich moss they would see.
Didn't burn Revis considering the coverage but he was gliding here. Unbelievable acceleration at the end of a 50 yard sprint. While tracking the ball. This was an unbelievable play and throw. I'll never forget that year. Moss is my favorite sports player ever. So the excitement and and entertainment that year for me was off the charts.
Wild play though. End results sucked but we ran up numbers that year lol! A lot of the hate we get today started with that play. It was on after that.
It's a pretty horrifying record when you think about it. But consider this........SINCE Brady has left, the record has actually gotten WORSE!!!!!! Since 2020 the Pats are 6-0 vs the Jets, despite Cam Newton and a Rookie Mac Jones, and all the disruptions of last year, SJX and O.My favorite thing about that clip with Moss was the very end, the Jets fan slumped down in his seat combined with the 28-7
What was so bad about that loss was we had thumped them a month prior.. Crumpler drops a TD in end zone.. ugh.. that game was cursed for us to loose..It's a pretty horrifying record when you think about it. If it weren't for the 2010 playoff loss (the 2nd worse loss of the BB era) the Jets would have absolutely NOTHING on the Pats and that was over 12 years ago.
Just this. My thoughts too.
Great post, ty law says he believes gonzo is the real deal. Said he'll have to acclimate to the NFL, but he's instantly the best CB on the roster.Haynes and Gonzalez are both listed at 6'2". Gonzalez is about 10 lbs. heavier.

Agreed!! And it paid off as those drafts produced uche, the Jones Bros. We have a nice core of players that are becoming key contributers..I am also excited about Smith and Mapu. After that who knows.
People like to talk about the Pats 2019 draft but the Pats changed philosophy after that and the 2020 to 2023 drafts have been much better. GIves me a lot of hope for this draft.
Another factor when you look at the failure of past drafts is how fast players cycle out of the NFL. It's 2023, it just doesn't say much to point out how the 2017 and 2018 drafts failed, given the very few numbers of players on their original teams for those drafts. It's the way of the NFL. Looking at your recent drafts is meaningful. Looking at a draft from 6 years ago tells you little, especially when the Cajuste cut reveals how badly the Patriots did in that draft even though some of those layers are starters elsewhere.I am also excited about Smith and Mapu. After that who knows.

Agreed, as we can all see things started to get better with the 2020s and the collaborative approach to drafting. As great as BB has been sometimes you need that different voice like matt groh, who's approach is simple.. you want fast guys, you want speed.. no need to complicate it. Marcus, Tyquan those guys posses elite speed. Tyreek hill was the same way he had elite speed and morphed into becoming a great WR. Tyquan can do the very same. But to your point those 2017, 18 & 19 drafts were so egregious becuase had those players worked out we'd would've had a competitive roster when Brady left.Another factor when you look at the failure of past drafts is how fast players cycle out of the NFL. T be successful, you need a few long-term difference makers (Pro Bowlers or All-Pros) who stay with the team, and then you need young draftees and FAs to fill in the rest of the spots.
Good article, it's been a while since I have felt so excited to see what a drafted player could be for this team. Something about gonzo just oozes star power and the ability to be such.Good interview with Christian's college HC. You can read the article or watch the video for the full interview:
