ok, I guess I was just questioning the "as soon as the spotter got him off the field" part. Really, you mean after he went through the evaluation in the tent. And TBH, based on Vrable's wording, and Gonzo's actions I'm not convinced. Is it possible that the tent evaluation saw enough to send him to the lockerroom for further evaluation and by the time that was done the game was well in hand?
tbh, dunno. its moot as far as the san diego game, and moving forward, I hope you are correct Ed and that I am wrong...

so, its just me read on the situation .... but hell if hes not in the protocol, that a beautiful thing

It's the last part + vrabels presser that confirms it...

Guys can be checked in the blue tent and return to action... But when they don't return, it's kinda becomes obvious
Yeah, just the thing that confused many ( me included); is he didn’t go into blue tent. He went to bench & from bench straight to lockerroom.

-Didn’t watch all 272 games this year, but I don’t remember any concussions not going to tent first unless they were carted off.

It is his personal account.
Lezar on livecast just said he has 2 Instas: this was his personal & not his „branding-business“

-Evan also said that Vrabel told him/reporters that ‚independent med analyst did not allow Gonzo to come back in game“. Evan made it sound like it was not a protocol-entry decision ; more a player protection /extra precautious case.

From that link - at the end it noted Nico Collins was NOT spotted at the Texans practice today.

This all makes sense from the eye test of both games. I’m not doctor, but Gonzo’s issue looked more like a leg issue (although he was doing the Hora in the tunnel to the locker room, maybe it was more leg than head). Collins looked like he was knocked into the year 1975 and couldn’t even walk off the field.

Two completely different levels (and Collins’ concussion was his second since October, from which he missed the next game completely - - I can’t imagine him being out there 6 days later from this).

One hates to see it, but objectively that has to change the calculation for this game quite a bit - - has there been any movement in the Vegas odds?

Doubtful, it's rare anything but a QB injury or foreknowledge that a team is resting players would swing a line in any noticeable way.

The people betting the Texans don't care if an offensive player is out (I would say most people betting the Texans get their information exclusively from First Take, but their money's just as good as anyone else's).

Schefter doesn't expect Nico plays at all this weekend (btw, WEEI's headline is MISLEADING):

He had come back for another play after the hit - but then they punted so the D wasn't going to be out there for a bit with any luck.

As far as the concussion protocol they can even finish the game but it's all about the symptoms - and the NFL takes a look at film as well so almost no avoiding it.

That being said, while he's in the concussion protocol, and they do have their phases to return, there's no timetable and it's possible for someone in Gonzo's situation to be cleared in time for the next game.

He practiced today.
If he doesn't play Sunday it would be an all-time upset.

Not only did he practice - but notice TWO details from this clip:

1) He is NOT wearing the "concussion helmet"

and

2) In that first run with Marcus, someone is firing footballs at his head area.

Folks, it's patently obvious he is only wearing the red jersey for regulations purposes. He's fine.
