Exactly. And the progression through the protocol is based on objective evaluation of symptoms by independent experts. Many of the symptoms seem subjective or player reported, but the later stages also utilize neurocognitive testing. Symptoms like headache or nausea depend on the player reporting honestly, but neurocognitive testing is objective. I’ve taken it for my FAA medical clearance, and I’m pretty sure it can’t be faked. So that’s what will really determine his return to play. Hopefully he clears protocol quickly.

I think it’s rare for a player in the protocol to be talking after the game because they are sequestered by the team, and likely don’t really feel up to it. So not much of an indication.

They showed him an animal, it had a hump, he said camel. They said "sir it's very rare that this happens but you are right, camel." Maybe Albert Einstein said Camel, I don't know. They said it was the highest possible level of performance on that test.

I’m not disagreeing with your first part, just noting that something rare happened where they let him speak to the media and am hopeful that it means he is progressing well.

Wilson played the entire game and got concussion symptoms the next day and missed 2 games. Boutte looked bad and he missed a week. Henderson was back quick and missed none. So hard to tell with concussions.
The fact he had some symptoms that kept him out but said he felt "fine" after the game is encouraging but just got to hope he's recovered for next week.

No ****. No consistency there. They said "spotters" made the call to check him out.

Who else thought his "43 out of 143" PFF ranking or something like that was funny as hell? The worst part is that Collinsworth contradicted his own company all game gushing about Gonzalez.

This is the NFL. We aren’t talking POTUS here you know.

I’ve taken one of those neurocognitive tests for the FAA. May not be the exact same one but I’d wager it’s close. It was very rigorous. NFL might not be quite as rigorous as the FAA but I’d expect their test regime is as soundly based on science, and not totally superficial.
