So, it looks like Gonzalez might not be available for week one?

"In his 32-team preview on Friday, The Athletic's Jeff Howe painted a murky and ominous picture for Gonzalez's injury, which sounds like it will linger into the 2025 season. Howe wrote that Gonzalez's injury is a "tricky one" which has made it "tough to pin down a timetable on his return."

This being said, I can't find official team reports of his injury status, but they have been very mum on the issue. What're people's thoughts? Concerns? We first have the Raiders then Miami.

P.S. Feel free to give me money for such a great thread title.

Eeeehhhh this really sucks. And Hamstrings tend to be a chronic pain in the ass, requiring a change of routine and physical exercise

A bit worrysome since he is our best player.

At least the current regime had the forethought to not hurry him back too soon, where it really could impact his availability for the season as a whole

Yeah looking like it, will see if he’s out there on Monday.

Don't forget, with the regular season schedule, Weds is sort of the first real work day leading up to the game. So I'd say that will be the day to keep an eye on. Fingers crossed he's feeling better by then.

We’ll see. It was a no brainer to hold him out for the remainder of the offseason. Whether the coaching staff will be keen on him resting early in the regular season is still in question.

Yeah I was hoping he would return when we started getting ready for the Raiders. Not a good sign so far. Monday is the big day for sure. If he's not out there Monday then I'd assume he's doubtful for Raiders. Though I suppose he's already doubtful.

This is what I fear with Carlton Davis getting exposed. Cooper and Meyers shouldn't scare anybody, but Davis will see a lot of action next Sunday.

I'm not really ready to worry about this yet. He's been out a few weeks already. If he's not out there by middle of next week, then I'll start to consider he may not play.

I just hope he gets back to practice next week. I’m good with holding him back week 1.

2 months is a reasonable timespan for a hammy depending on the grade of the injury, so far it's been a month and the impression at the time of the injury was that it wasn't nothing to worry about, a minor injury, there was concerns and he got shutdown immediately , so in my estimation things are within the normal course of recovery.

I said that we should have been in on another veteran CB since the off season.. jaire Alexander was out there. What better insurance would it had been than to have an all pro like Alexander. It's worth paying attention that Gonzo hasn't practiced in 3 weeks..

Gonzo will be critical to whether or not this defense has the chance to be really good this year. Besides Maye, no other players health makes or breaks our entire season.

I don’t feel great about the secondary if he can’t stay healthy. Davis has proven far too unreliable as a CB1.

Thx again Mayo/Milton, we couldve gotten Hunter

Talented, but very injury prone. Many promising players have faded into obscurity for this reason.

One things for sure, I don't want to see Meyers have a good game or else it will encourage the media and fans to trade for him.

Raiders will be airing out next Sunday!

That would be disappointing, but better safe than sorry.
I think Davis, Austin, Jones can handle Meyers, old man Cooper, and 2 rookies.
Hopefully Dugger is ready to prove he was the right choice to lock down Bowers.
