Christian Barmore the most double-teamed DT in the NFL?

As a person with... questionable motivation from time to time myself, I can say with certainty that when you're in a new situation, you're automatically more motivated. As you get more comfortable, that motivation gets harder to maintain. Barmore might be different for sure, so I'm not predicting this, just that I know anytime I've started at a new company I'm much more of a go getter than I am five years later, and anytime I move to a new home, I always keep it spotless for about three months before I start to slouch back into my usually clutter fest.
Oh, believe me, I'm exactly the same way. I fall off hard at a job after a few months.

What DTs are catching your eye so far for the draft?

I watched Georgia one week and Jordan Davis just seemed to explode off the screen. Who else should I be watching?
He's having a really good year after a slightly disappointing 2020. He keeps it up and he'll be a surefire top 50 pick.

Perrion Winfrey, Travis Jones, DJ Davidson, John Ridgeway, Zacch Pickens

Depending on how you view him Demarvin Leal is a monster. Excellent run defender with rare movements for a guy almost 300. If we're in range and have a chance he could really help this DL. He's a freak.

Eyioma Uwazurike and Marquan McCall are solid run defenders we could be interested in around mid-late rounds.

He has been a pleasant surprise and Bill is having a hard time keeping him off the field. He really has been able to get pressure on the QB as well. Love, Love, Love his potential!!!!
Hardly fair. Bill is up there in years and hardly in shape.

Who’s a guy we’d like to see paired up w Barrymore?

either college or pro... or a generic build/skill set...

Everytime I have seen Barmore play he is in the thick of the action or chasing plays down , from what I have seen he is trying hard and putting the effort in.

The answer to have a DT that is successful is to use your first rounder on a DT.

The patriots will have huge huge issues at OT, DB or both. Those should and will be our priorities.

I've noticed this as well.

He is ALWAYS either in or around the play.

Freudian slip
works for me... out of curiosity, were you thinking of Drew or Lionel?

Oh, and i would have accepted stoopid autocorrect as well...

This is a product of scheme BTW. Adam Butler was the most double teamed DT in the NFL one year.

Here's last year - Butler was indeed heavily double-teamed (70% rate), but not as much as Barmore this year.

Poe was the "winner" in 2020, which says something about this stat as a measure of how good the player is (he was released).

Wait, you meant predicting the future ACCURATELY.
Accurately? I didn't know there were qualifying words we're shackled into using around here! That's in the really fine print of the user agreement isn't it?

This is why there are 2 axes on the graph. One of them pretty clearly shows how good the player was, and Poe was on the bad side of that axis. Of course, you can say this about Barmore too.

It's also early, I suppose he could just start slacking again soon after complacency kicks in.
If I'm being predictive (again) I would guess that the next real measuring point for that would be the year before his contract year (and then the year after). Do the numbers skyrocket? Then fall again? That to me remains the ultimate kind of data that can really give fans an accurate picture of the actual work ethic and motivation a player has - are they consistent with only small peaks and valleys across the years (hopefully with positive trends therein).

Yeah, this is also a thing to monitor. 5 weeks into the rookie season doesn't tell you the whole story on any aspect of a player, which includes work ethic.

Cannot agree more. You only get so many draft picks as well. I would guess blue chip OT is pretty expensive whether pick or free agent....so it comes down to which blue chip versus which blue collar is the most necessary for next years' team (much less this year if any moves are to be made).

OT remains the most concerning position 1st in my mind (now & later), then probably run stopping (either DT or MLB COULD be now, probably later) and then #1 CB (later).
