Chiefs Trade Marcus Peters to the Rams

Marcus Peters is the type of guy that's always going to be a headache you can't trust this guy with a big contract which is why i think the Chiefs did the right thing.

I would be terrified of giving this guy a huge deal in case he decides to strangle another coach.

"reality TV" is not the same as "real life". show producers can and do edit scenes to push certain storylines or to make certain situations more dramatic, funny, confrontational, etc. because that drives ratings.

for example, the Amazon Prime series All or Nothing picked up where Hard Knocks left off in training camp, following the 2016 rams during the regular season. i remember thinking that jared goff seemed like a bit of a laid-back, somewhat clueless goofball in Hard Knocks (e.g., that scene where QB coach chris weinke is making fun of goff for not knowing from which direction the sun rose).

in All or Nothing, they focused less on the personal life of goff and basically showed him working hard and being a good teammate.

the exact same team, but two different portrayals based on what the producers wanted to emphasize.

Now if we can just find the producers with enough talent and the right script to make forums poster Chris Stevenson seem insightful and well-adjusted, it would certainly make Pats Fans dot com incalculably more pleasant.

For those two years and the low risk that it would’ve brought, I’d have driven up to Boston/Providence to pick him up from the airport, myself.

A lot of people who are pretending to be happy that he wasn’t brought here would have been damn excited if he was.

It's a move that has ramifications beyond the player, too, because paying him the money on his deal for these next two seasons, instead of paying Johnson what he's going to get, will make it easier (for cap purposes) to pay Aaron Donald his deal, as he'll probably be getting the biggest non-QB deal ever.

On the #Chiefs & Marcus Peters: Best described as a mutual parting. Both sides came away in a good place. KC knew they would deal him for 2 months, took the best deal with a limited market that barely included 2 teams (not #Browns or #Colts, despite their execs drafting him)

Peters isn't a Mahomes fan at all & didn't see eye to eye w/ many in that organization. They weren't taking the 5th year option & wanted to get something. Best for both.

Peters is basically a half the field lockdown CB who will be had for the next two years at approx. 10m dollars, total.

He must have really butted heads with some of the KC coaches, as the fact that there wasn’t much of a market for him is a bit surprising. I would’ve thought that his character issues may have been worth the gamble, but I guess that I was incorrect.

It reminds me a lot of the Jamie Collins situation. A very, very talented player who just would/could not fit into the kind of organizational culture the coaching staff and management wanted. Another reminder that us fans simply dont have enough inside into the everyday workings of teams except for carefully crafted social media content, the occasional leaks and whatever happens on Sundays.
