Challenge the Bills

There's alot to optimistic about. Vrabel as a HC has a chip on his shoulder, Josh is re-energized. The schedule isn't as daunting. To your point on Alex Barth.. the off season program, mini-camp, training camp Is where the team comes together. This is a playoff team. The AFC West had 3 teams make it to the post season last year. We had 7 one score losses last season. Coaching primarily is a huge reason we lost.
I mean yes coaching sucked, but it was more than coaching malpractice. OL was comically bad, defense sucked. I had us four wins going in before we knew how bad of a coach Mayo would be

The Patriots should be competitive in every game.

Aside from the overhaul of the roster there could be some dramatic changes in their approach to games on the field. I.e….they are going to use something known as a game plan . It’s actually something Bill Belichick used to do, where they would take away the other team’s strengths and force them to try and beat them with their weaknesses. Shocking, I know, but I’m pretty sure that Vrabel actually employs this same “ strategy” a concept that was a lost art for the 2024 Patriots. This is going to shock those who played for Mayo, as they haven’t encountered ideas like this since high school and college, and probably forgot that they even existed during the 2024 “ I can’t help them once they are inside those lines” season, but unfortunately the “ just lace them up and give them heck” approach Mayo employed just didn’t work, and try as I may I can’t imagine why, but I expect that Vrabel and Co. will try new age concepts like locking down the opponents best receiver, or limiting opponents drive opportunities by eating up the clock with a power run game. And while that may seem unfair to some, it could just work, and maybe add a couple of wins to their season.

I don’t see how you can say that the coaching sucked. Before every game Jerod Mayo held a team meeting where he clearly instructed them to “ Go get them guys.” I mean seriously what more can you ask a coach to do than that?

Coaching didn't help the situation and more than that the messages were so mixed... Wolf during his post draft media appearance said something of note.. he mentioned last season it was alot of confusion and he thanks Vrabel and his staff for coming in and helping getting things right. Probably the most authentic thing Wolf has said publicly since he's been in his role. I for one vastly overlooked just how important the job of a HC is. We had 7 one score games last season Coaching decisions led heavily to those losses. Also yes to your point the OL just like the QB position post brady had been utterly botched.

Great stuff Huck, and add to that.. " Drake won the competition but Brissett gives us the best chance to win"....

I do not see how he can avoid another concussion in this sport.

Its only a matter or time.
Agreed. Tua a young man with a family whose already gained generational wealth. He really and truly needs to have a honest conversation with his family and his personal doctor's about his future.

The Phins are screwed after signing Tua to that contract. They are stuck with him until he gets hurt again.

50 mil guaranteed salary in 2025 and 54 million 2026.

Tua has stayed upright only 1 season out of 5.

He is a turnover machine. 2023 - 14 INTs and 13 fumbles. Made the playoffs and lost.

Agreed. I'm ultra confident in Vrabel and Williams devising a game plan to deal with Miami offense. This question has bothered me for years... why couldn't BB bear tua??

The Bills have possessed one of the best rosters in the league since 2021 and Josh Allen is supposedly some transcendent QB… what are they waiting for?

The Dolphins should be a smidge better than last season assuming the rookies contribute but not much better than the year prior. They’re soft because of weak line play.

The Jets… they’re the Jests.

The Pat’s can be the second best team in the division assuming health and development of young players… especially Drake Maye.

There’s going to be an inflection point where the Bills are no longer a team on the rise and start going the other way. Their ability to draft well and team build on a budget will be critical. Their draft class this year doesn’t overly impress me and Allen’s contract is now an impediment.

The 2020 game Miami gashed the NE run defense for 250 yards and 3 TDs. TOP was lopsided in Miami's favor. Scam Newton actually had a better QBR than Tua, but the Pats had to settle for FGs.

2020 and beyond? 2 words. Corky Mac.

I know and all the more reason that Miami is the first domino to fall.

Allen clearly is the best QB in the AFCE.
Dolphins feel like a teetering franchise. If they lose a string of games this year, I could see Mcdaniel’s seat getting hot.

Agreed. And week 1 in 2021... Harris fumbled in the final drive...

The sand in the hour glass is running out for the Bills.

They would not even have been in the 2024 AFCC if Harbaugh kept running Henry instead of giving Jackson the ball so he could be the hero. Nevertheless, other AFC teams are improving. Houston is a team to not take lightly. Denver was a 10 game winner. LAC is just getting better. Hopefully the Pats can turn heads as well.
