Caserio to stay? . interview request by HOU rejected

I've said it before I think Caserio is the best option to be the heir apparent to BB. Hopefully he stays here long enough.

When BB took over here he stressed the importance of coaching and personnel/scouting being on the same page.

Caserio obviously has the skills with one side of that coin and it has been largely reported he gets involved in coaching too so I think he is more equipped than most for this dual role.
Hm, that’s interesting. I never really considered Caserio being the HC (and GM obviously). Now that you mention it, I do think he’s capable of it.

dadgummit......obrien needs him down here in h-town

represent yo hood

Maybe I'm late to the party. Your posts are now frivolous. This is a Patriots site.

O'Brien has just been added to BB's persona non grata list....below Casserly and Mangini
You forgot most of the media....

or did you?

C'mon, those of us that don't live in NE are allowed to be closet fans of our home teams.

Unless we live in NY.

yes it is.......but its a thread titled....

I thought the deal was that a rejected interview request meant that to get what they want, the requesting team needs to provide sufficient, agreed-upon compensation to the interviewee's team, and then the interview can proceed.

I wouldn’t take any compensation for Caserio, unless he actually wants to leave, which I doubt. I think Caserio is the heir to Belichick, and as such the most important person in the organization after Belichick. I think it will be Caserio who chooses the next HC, and that Belichick’s retirement will be full, he won’t take a position within the organization with any authority, but might take a consulting position. I’ll be very interested to see what happens with Ernie Adams, and if he decides to retire with Belichick I think Caserio will fill that position with someone to carry on that role.

Casserio IS the GM in all but name right now. He also does a bunch of non-GM stuff for the Pats that others don't.

BTW- I don't think the Pats can block Ossenfort's interview IF it was for the GM job, so clearly Houston wanted him for a parallel position, not GM.

I don't think so. I don't think anyone would ever go below Mangini, by the way. Could it be that the two guys just didn't want to interview there? Sometimes the conspiracy theories take off before the rational reasons for rejecting a job interview are contemplated.

Interesting.

The thought of Caserio buying the groceries AND cooking the dinner never really crossed my mind.

Christ another storyline we'll hear for weeks.

Nah. BOB is not doing anything sniveling here. This might be all McNair

I don't know why the would OR wouldn't.

During the season? It's promotion?
They are preparing to win a SB and numerous other teams are pulling at the staff. Why allow the distraction? Why help yourself get raided?

The rules are you can make them wait until YOUR season is over. Why would you consider them interviewing in your dime when you can prevent it?

They can block it while their season is still going on, which is all they did. Both can interview after the patriots season is over... in early February.

Sure but they already set the precident of allowing Caserio and others to interview during the playoffs

If it's a bylaws thing that's fine but it runs counter to their MO

Evidently there was a rule change this year.

Plus we have no clue if any facts. Did caserio even want to interview.

I saw the rule change but I can't see how it's applicable in justifying the denial. I 'm sure it is. I just don't know how

There are ample amounts of heated discussions and difference of opinions on this site. The common thread, whatever the opinion (Brady-Graroppolo /Jones trade) is that the person is 100% Patriot. Thus, it's "unpatriotic" to suggest that a Patriot assistant coach should take a position with a different team. An individual that is a closet fan of another team is fine. Just don't post: This is the New England Patriots website.
