Cam top 5 AFC QB or no?

Because they overrate him for past success and don’t nitpick him the way they do Cam

Probably the only real answer here. The guy has been in decline for years.

Who is better?

1. Patrick
2. Ben?
3. anyone in AFC East?
4. Carr? -no

Who you got?

Cam Newton has never won an NFL game as an AFC starter. You are what your record says you are. He's 6-10 in his last two seasons.

Let's see if he makes the opening day roster.

It doesn't make any difference how good Cam Newton is. Our wide receivers
and tight ends are among the league's worst. The Patriots are probably going
to employ a running offense which will be a challenge for our offensive line.

Brady resembled nothing like a top 5 QB in the AFC last year and the team did all right at least until the playoffs.

There are only 16 teams and at least half of them are putrid (so top 5 isn’t that impressive). But I’ll play.

1. Mahomes
2. Jackson

3. Watson

4. Ben R

5. Maybe Cam, maybe not
I missed a lot of guys on this “not aging so well” list... (including Edelman)

Well, on the bright side cam technically is in the top 16 AFC quarterbacks...

Can't wait until they win a couple of games in a row so that all of this overly dramatic melodrama ends.

In order I'd say right now in the AFC

1 Mahomes
2 Ben
3 Lamar
4 Watson
5 Tannehill (shocking but the last few seasons he's played well)
6 Carr
7 Allen (his ability to make big plays and runs puts him here)

After that I have to think about it.
(EDIT: Thought about it and had time so i finished my ranking.)
8 Minshew (Having a solid year 2 after a good rookie year)
9 Herbert (A lot of talk about Burrow but for my money Herbert has been better)
10 Burrow (Him and Herbert would be higher if they weren't rookies)
11 Rivers (Doing well without a lot of talent but has lost a step)
12 Mayfield (Good year after a sophomore slump. Can't completely trust him though.
13 Cam (Not getting any help but just not creating enough and made lots of mistakes)
14 Fitzpatrick (Mr. Inconsistent so he can't be higher)
15 Darnold (I couldn't decide who sucked more)
16 Lock (both bottom 2 suck and should be back ups. Maybe Fitz should be too but not to the same level).

I have a very strange feeling Jimmy G could be back as early as next season. I previously said that ship sailed, but he's gotten injured again and struggling was struggling before the injury. He has never looked comfortable in Shanahan's offense.

the 49ers arent letting Jimmy G go unless they can secure the services of a good qb...

they are competitive with Jimmy Galapagos... think Shanahan wants to face the future with Nick Mullens? why would they leave their own cupboard bare? Makes little sense to move on from him unless they can nail down a replacement...

edit:
Oh... the obligatory a lot of the comments in this thread haven't aged well...
and right now one would be hard pressed to say Cam is a top 15 AFC qb...

.

This thread aged about as well as a 2 month old glass of milk.
