Mac Daddy is ready for this. He has an OL and a running game. His teammates trust him. He will have his up and his downs but i see more ups. Go mac daddy!!!!!!
Like Roethlisnerger’s first year , solid O line, good running game and good defense…makes
Life easier… ask David Carr or jim plunkett what it is like without an o line..

Who else do you see always wearing a mask on the sidelines?
Bourne and Harris just to name two. I'd be cautious in making correlations without anything to back them up. Even vaccinated individuals are still wearing masks - in fact its mandated in many environments. As such some players may simply be taking the extra precautionary measure while others may in fact not be vaccinated.

As I said elsewhere, especially for an African-American community which has been consistently lied to by its government since its inception - to include being injected with supposed "vaccines" only for it to be the toxins themselves - how is that vaccine hesitancy not at a minimum understandable? Just saying "trust us - this time its different" is supposed to move the needle?

Had to be. Otherwise they would have given him time with the starters. Nothing else makes sense.
Never a doubt that Cam was not long for the roster if he lost the job to Mac. He was never here to back up anyone.

My next prediction:

Mac outperforms and beats Tua week 1. Miami media questions the Tua pick and pushes for a Watson trade.
I think Miami is going to put a hurting on Jones. While we are overjoyed at no more Cam, the rest of the league is psyched to get a rookie QB with only 13 games of college experience and only 10 sacks in his college career.

Still, I would rather grow with Mac than be stuck with Cam.

He may have looked terrible but he is revered by a lot guys around the league. I don't know if it is the charisma or if it was the Heisman/NFL MVP but even with as bad as he looked he still has a very large fanbase inside and outside of the league.
Huh? Where do you get this from? Players know whether other players are good or not.
I imagine he is a likable guy (but none of us hang out with him) but WRs are not going to risk their livelihood to go to a team that has a QB who can’t throw the ball because he’s a cool dude.

so is that why Brady had nobody here in the end?

His career has to start sometime, why not now. Pats window to contend is not open yet so there's no pressure on the kid to win. Looking forward to seeing this, it's been a really long time.

Cam Newton is gone ..... there is no Cam Newton

My guess is Cam was told there was going to be a transition at some point this year, and Cam wanted to be cut to go somewhere else. There is absolutely no way BB's plan was not to start Cam week 1. I have mentioned Cam's ego issues before. I made a big post about it. He can't be the back up at any point. To him, he is the MVP, the Heisman winner, Mr. first string his whole life. To tell him that he's part of a transition plan, he isn't down with that. Can't accept it.
Wait. Let me get this straight.
You think that belichick wanted to start newton in week 1 but sat him down and said the guy he drafted in the first round is eventually going to play, so he asked the guy he wanted to start whether he would like to play or get paid to go home?
And you think the guy no one has wanted for 2 years thought he had better options elsewhere?
The mental gymnastics required to reach that conclusion are epic.

SMH. Just some facts:
Jones played in 30 games in college and took 16 sacks.

So, this idea you're trying to push that Mac doesn't have a lot of game experience or experience getting hit just doesn't fly.

Just saw the news. Have to admit, didn't see that coming. But if Bill thought that Mac won the starting job, then giving Cam his release was probably the right thing to do. I'm sure Cam appreciated it.

Mac was ALWAYS the future, the only question was when would that future start. Looks like it starts today. I have just one concern, besides all the "rookie" mistakes all rookie QB's make, its his durability. Reportedly he has great awareness, quick release, acceptable arm, and above average processing skills, but he can't utilize those skills if he isn't on the field. That has always been my main concern about him starting the season.....finishing it.

Nothing to do now but wait and watch the results. This is a good team, with solid talent across the board and better than average depth. However this is just one good team among 9-10 others in the AFC, so just being a "good team" is not enough to expect a playoff invite. A stong turnover ratio, relatively good health, and just a pinch of luck will also be necessary as well

Buckle up Boys and Girls the post-Brady era has officially begun.

You know, the Jimmy G stuff is an interesting thought. I don’t think SF is gonna cut him this year but he’s definitely getting the axe next year. Theoretically if Mac somehow looks bad this season (seems very unlikely), Bill can pull the plug and bring Jimmy back next year.

I don't get why people want Garoppolo back. He is very injury prone, I question his toughness, and he still makes a lot of mistakes. I doubt Garoppolo would come back to the Pats. Jones is going to get at least two seasons to prove he is the QB of the future and I think Jimmy is going to want to go somewhere he can have a shot at starting if not the guaranteed starter.

I’m just a bill

Edit: meant to post as reply to schoolhouse rock post

Cam remains undefeated against Brady so he can hang a banner for that at least.

I think the S.S. Garoppolo has sailed away.
