The B's are indeed losing and that will largely continue through season's end. It's not a coaching thing though. The talent just isn't there and half the roster is AHL quality, if that. The roster reshaping hasn't been pretty but it was/is necessary. They had a hella competitive run but the party is over. Right now they are frustrating to watch from a win loss perspective but as a hockey guy I can tolerate the mistakes when the legs are moving and the effort is there, I know how we got here.
I doubt Sweeney has much more in the way of grace than this off season and next year's team. Doubt many other GM's could survive the twin debacles of the Lindholm and Zadorov signings. For the life of me I still can't understand how Sweeney didn't find a way to make Reinhart the type of Godfather offer that would have brought him here and crippled the Panthers and instead spent on Lindholm and Zadorov. That amount of cap space should have landed Reinhart and a '4' d-man, this year's story could have been very different. Instead they got a 3rd line (or less) center and a human penalty machine on D. smdh
And yes, mea culpa, I wanted Lindholm at the trade deadline last year. But that would have been a rental that allowed his 'fit' with Pasta to be assessed without future commitment.
