Florida came out strong but 3 of those 1st period goals were stoppable with nothing more than solid fundamentals.
Ottawa flat out broke Korpisalo, I hope the road back isn't a struggle but that looked terrible

ya, he was pretty bad. We just cant match up against the Panthers yet but its early (obviously)

Looking at the off season moves it appears they were made with more than half an eye looking towards FL. There was a concerted effort to get bigger.

Too bad there wasn’t a more-concerted effort to get Better.

I think, once`they figure each other out, they will be a better team than last year. Barring injury for the teams above them though it still won't be enough. A healthy FL team is still the Beast of The East , the Rangers are solid and (on paper) Toronto is stacked. OFC Toronto is stacked ever`year on paper, unfortunately for them the game is played on ice.

@maust That was a little better last night.

Yeah.
An odd first two games.
They lose 6-4 and it wasn't that close.

I missed this energy last night for sure. Sad when fun things end.

We miss it but the B's cap doesn't. Korpisalo's contract runs through 27-28 at $4M per cap charge. If the B's can get him back to form after his disastrous year in Ottawa that contract will become a genuine asset. Only time will tell. Ullmark's contract with Ottawa on the other hand, not so much. He got Swayman money out of them for 4 years. I suspect that was no small factor in Sway's negotiations.

just cant hang with Florida. They own us, even without a couple of top guys. The Bruins are not in sync yet and still working in new players. I will say for as much as i like Poitras, the kid is not NHL strong by any means and is getting pushed around. I never liked the Hampus Lindholm acquisition and still don't. He is not physical and turns the puck over way too many times. I just don't like his game. Hopefully we get it together soon but losing to the Panthers is getting real old

Yeah, Florida is fekkin' good. I am over it. It's like the relationship between the hammer and nail. The nail knows what's coming but can't do **** about it.

You make a valid point. The team we are seeing now needs to gel, they'll be vastly improved once they get used to playing together. I like that they shopped size in the off season, they just need to get sorted playing together.

Poitras' is bigger this year but at 20 he still has a way to go, with his size and his game.

The way this team is structured, with a solid defensive d-man on every pairing to free up his partner, we can expect to see more of the D jumping up. Maybe that'll give Lindholm an opportunity to improve your opinion of him

oh Lindholm, it might just be me. When we signed him, everyone (media, fans, people who are smart) all loved the move...but i just don't see it. I also think Carlo plays small too. Again, maybe it just me.

I think the excitement when he was traded for was mostly generated by the need he filled at the time. He also took less than what he was projected to get in FA to stay here, $6.5M AAV for a 1A D-man is fairly reasonable. At 6'4" and 220 he doesn't quite play the game B's fans are used to from a d-man of that size so i get you there but he certainly plays a smart game and is an offensive asset. His puck movement and north/south skating skills make him a good fit for Montgomery's style.

With Carlo I can't help but wonder if the concussions have changed his game a bit. He doesn't play in quite the same thunderous style as he did but his puck movement has improved immensely. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it and what we're seeing is just his natural evolution, experience making him play a more head up style.

I freely admit as a former goaltender, I see the game from the net out so my thoughts can sometimes unintentionaly favor that side of the ice. A lot of time spent viewing the ice level game from that vantage point can do that

I can't stand the local advertising on the boards at opponents rinks. I get it, you want the money...but it just looks weird on TV. They aren't in Boston...

Loss to the Pred's looks worse ones the final score than it was. This team just hasn't quite jelled yet. It's painfully obvious the roster changes and early road trip haven't helped any. There's too much talent there for it not to come together eventually but this missing by by inches they're suffering through makes for a tough watch at times. The upcoming schedule isn't going to help much, no extra practice time on the horizon.

What talent? Certainly not up front, where they absolutely Suck.

I'm beginning to really despise the newest Lindstrom... I already despise ZaZa... And for Ganja's sake, please send Poitras to either junior hockey if he has any remaining eligibility or to the AHL, because he just doesn't belong on the same ice sheet as Grown Men...
Marchand is Finished, that much is certain; but he's also taking Coyle with him...
