Bruins 2024-2025

B's got screwed on the matching penalties that led to Fla's second goal, because earlier in the game the refs evened things up in almost the same exact scenario. That really pissed me off, I was really fired up for the first time in a month or so.

That truly was a **** call, you put your stick in someone's grill like you're trying to exfoliate his face you've at least earned an extra 2

I love the energy from this new roster. Not sure the talent level will be there long-term, but once they make the playoffs, they just need 16 wins before anyone else. If this youthful energy can bring out the "animal-mode" in Swayman "anything is possible".
So, sue me, I'm an optimist. Haha.

Not a lot of finishers on this roster but plenty of energy, at least they're playing entertaining hockey. In retrospect it's fair to say Carlo and Coyle were both playing tight, trying to do more than their skill sets allowed for. The hustle in the forechecking of the last couple of games has been refreshing. We're seeing guys just getting after it rather than sweating about making it perfect. More than anything else hockey is a game where energy is huge.

I wonder what Marchand's influence as captain and the subsequent subtraction of such has/had/is having?

I question how much influence certain players can have as captains. Bergeron was definitely the captain type, cared about the room, led by example and had a work ethic second to none. Chara's captaincy was more of a lifetime achievement award. Marchand's game is all about the fire in his belly, not sure how that translates to a captaincy.

I was surprised to see Swayman out there last night. That first goal was one he usually stops.

Tough loss, maybe it was the letdown from the Fla win. Once they found that next gear, they looked like a quicker team than Ottawa. That level of effort is not possible every night and it doesn't surprise me that they will have rough spots. But I love watching these guys.

Outside of Swayman I enjoy watching this team play as well, the talent may be lacking but the hustle is there. Swayman has his head up his ass, there is nothing about the way he is playing that shows he even knows Bob Essensa's name, never mind been coached by him. Swayman is playing fundamentally unsound net at this point, time to sit hsi ass down, as in sitting on the 9th floor not even dressing him down. He is a mess

Having never played goaltender (other than many times when the older kids would make play in "nets' during street hockey and they would pummel me until they got bored), I am not knowledgeable enough to understand the fine points of goaltending, so I will defer to your expertise on this matter. I hope he can pull it together next year. Is there anyone promising in the B's system that will be ready soon?

Korpisalo is a safer start right now.

That sounds good, but who will be the backup if Swayman is upstairs watching games. It looks like Bussi and DiPietro, are the choices, anyone else? How good are those two?

Bussi has shown flashes in Providence but he's hardly set the world on fire. DiPietro is probably more talented but he's a year or two away, he's a bit raw but his glove is impressive

I was/am enjoying myself on Marco Island FLA but like an idiot I went to the business center at the hotel this morning and watched the “highlights” of the “game” last night… In the words of Willie Wonka, it should be Clear as Crystal now to anyone with a real brain that the ****ing m-m-morons in the front orifice traded THE WRONG ****ING GOALIE and received JACK ****ING **** for him. So ****ing glad that Gayman was pulled after one; otherwise the HC would’ve lost all credibility.

Only 7 more years of Swayman.

Sweeney strikes again.

Glad that Pasta was split from the top line to try to add some balance… Might as well have Lousy Lauko as his winger with Mittelstadt too; maybe the language commonality will get something - anything - from that ****ing stiff…****ing Sweeney couldn’t get anybody ****ing else from Minnesota besides him?… And for the ****ing Trillionth ****ing time: Bring up Merkulov & Lysell and KEEP THEM UP and throw away the ****ING GARBAGE that’s Brownstain & Belcher.

Bruins currently on a 9 game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Monty’s Blues have won 10 in a row.

The B's are indeed losing and that will largely continue through season's end. It's not a coaching thing though. The talent just isn't there and half the roster is AHL quality, if that. The roster reshaping hasn't been pretty but it was/is necessary. They had a hella competitive run but the party is over. Right now they are frustrating to watch from a win loss perspective but as a hockey guy I can tolerate the mistakes when the legs are moving and the effort is there, I know how we got here.

I doubt Sweeney has much more in the way of grace than this off season and next year's team. Doubt many other GM's could survive the twin debacles of the Lindholm and Zadorov signings. For the life of me I still can't understand how Sweeney didn't find a way to make Reinhart the type of Godfather offer that would have brought him here and crippled the Panthers and instead spent on Lindholm and Zadorov. That amount of cap space should have landed Reinhart and a '4' d-man, this year's story could have been very different. Instead they got a 3rd line (or less) center and a human penalty machine on D. smdh

And yes, mea culpa, I wanted Lindholm at the trade deadline last year. But that would have been a rental that allowed his 'fit' with Pasta to be assessed without future commitment.

*sigh*

They are unwatchable right now. I have shut off FUBO, and won't sign up for NESN360 because eff John Henry. I have resigned myself to 15 minute highlight reviews on youtube.

Most of their games probably don't merit more than 2 minute reviews and that's being generous

Is Mayo behind the bench tonight ?
