Well, I was always wondering what like would be like without Solder if they traded him. Looks like we're gonna find out

September 2001.........

Patsguy; "Next man up. That's why Brady is a reserve.he's not good enough to be a starter"

October 2010.........

Patsguy: "Next man up. That's why Connolly is a reserve.he's not good enough to be a starter"

September 2013.........

Patsguy: "Next man up. That's why Edelman is a reserve.he's not good enough to be a starter"

September 2015......

Patsguy: "Next man up. That's why Andrews is a reserve.he's not good enough to be a starter"

You left off the part about hightower being a reserve

Brady just needs to become a running QB ....bump up his QBR......become respectable
I bet TB12's QBR in the preseason was outstanding.

Just put Gronk the Bouncer on the left side and toss undesirables out of the dance club

geez...first thing that popped in my mind is that idea of von miller against slow as cannon...
horrible news!

I have a lot of faith in Coach Guigs. He will get Cannon's best, he will coach him up just like he did with Andrews and the two kids at guard. #TrustInGuigs

didn't he have the torn labrum when he made the super bowl saving tackle on lynch?

He tore his labrum in November or December last year.

I see some comments about Soldier here.
"He is not great"
"He is top 10"
Gugs has made it clear that there is only one LT in the league he would take over Soldier. Even if we dilute that a bit Soldier is a top 5 guy easily and a great LT. Lets not change history here because he is now injured. Thankfully we have a capable replacement.

Hightower bench pressed Russell Okung off of him with one arm to make that tackle too.

Cannon will be fine at LT, there's no need to panic, or to start shifting Vollmer around. Did no one else notice Cannon playing LT against a damn good Cowboy's front last week?

As for Breer's "sky is falling", give Dallas a little credit. They did what Buffalo Pittsburgh and Jacksonville could not-- beat our linemen... albeit mostly in the first half. Once they made the right adjustments, the Pats looked fine.

Coaching and adjustments. Cannon and Fletcher... next up.

Vollmer LT
Cannon RT

While that's what we all want, we probably won't get it, particularly since Belichick had that option available on Sunday and chose to stick with Cannon at LT.

Cannon has played well. We'll be fine.

I was about to call Solder a damn liar when I saw the title but then I read the tweet...he didn't lie. He said his elbow was fine!

But it sucks to hear he tore his bicep.

On the brightside, do we promote Fleming now so we can run it down their throats?

No way he actually believes that. Solder might be a top 10 LT, maybe, but he's definitely not top 5.

Joe Thomas, Trent Williams, Tyron Smith, Jason Peters, Andrew Whitworth, and Joe Staley are all without a doubt better than Solder. A lot better. There's a few other guys I would take over Solder too, but then again I'm not particularly high on him.

They might take a different approach looking at the rest of the season though, as opposed to a stop-gap solution in one game.

Solid player. That's too bad.

Good news is that Cannon is relatively very experienced for a backup.

That Denver matchup is going to be very interesting though.

Yes. Solder was above-average. They signed him to Top-10 LT money which was about above-average.

Top 5? Agreed...no way he was in that category.

crap, big loss. cannon did not look good initially on sunday, but improved in the second half (maybe got some help from williams).
I did not think Cannon looked good. I think they played a lot more blocking TE on the left side.

I don't disagree with paying a back-up OT $3-4mm. I've not been a fan of appointing Cannon to that role.
I do think he has looked much better at RT than LT. Hope they switch Vollmer, who is more athletic, and play Cannon at RT. You are downgrading at two positions rather than one, but you are downgrading at the more important LT position a lot more by placing Cannon there.

Fleming is a RT as well. They've had Blaine Clausell on the practice squad a while - he was a college LT.
