Brandon Lloyd??

Lloyd did not do anything that cannot be replaced by a younger player.

Leaving Amendola out of it, which younger player has demonstrated a likelihood of equaling Lloyd's season?

Not a fair question considering Aaron Dobson or Josh Boyce has not played in the NFL.. but lets go to some younger players around the NFL who as rookies have came in and been productive, maynot have been stars right away but have had very productive rookie seasons... Julio Jones, Justin Blackmon, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Anquan Bolden, AJ Green, just to name a few. If they can do it, means its physically possible and especially possible with players like Aaron Dobson who is big, fast, gifted and has hands and is a smart player who has played in a complex offensive system making it an easier transition mentally for him. Heck, just production from both rookies could equal each other to outnumber Lloyd's production and that would be more than enough for us to survive. And my last point, but since when does "production" equal playoff wins, clutch catches on critical drives and superbowl victories. Wes Welker was way more productive then Troy Brown, but Troy Brown has more rings and before you harp on the defense crap... let me beat you to it, true but the offense still had to get it done when it counted during the playoffs to do their part and he has more clutch critical and touchdown grabs during the post season and SB then Wes.. but to you its all about production.

All of them. Lloyd is terrible.

Wrong, but thank you for playing. The correct, and obvious, answer is

"None of them. We'll have to hope for the unexpected."

The question is perfectly fair, as I'm sure you know. Your problem is with the answer, which is "none of them".

Call Lloyd, Jabar Gaffney & David Thomas (& Dallas Clark) and bring 'em all to HQ for physicals, workouts
and interviews.
We need people who have had experience and some modicum of success here (or anywhere, for that matter).
Our TE/WR situation is a complete, unadulterated shambles and there are now 3 roster spots available.
Bill needs to act, now.

Dobson and Boyce were not as productive as these guys in college and, despite falling behind with injuries, you expect them to step into the NFL as rookies and be more productive than they were in college. What is it in their past or in BB's history drafting WRs should we expect this sort of rookie success?

I think people do. And Fells. And the Hooman.

Nice picture of Ridley you got there.

Everyone i know and people on here talk of him like he is dead or never playing again. It's amazing

He was released because he wouldnt take a pay cut, nice try though.

Pay is a factor of expected future production ...

when your expected production is not expected to equal your pay you are cut.

Belichick is expecting his production to be taken care of by cheaper and younger players.

Nice try ...

LOL that some of you think you're smarter than Belichick.

I'll take Belichick over Snake Eyes and Deus Irae all day long.

Do you think just maybe, that BB was trying to muscle Lloyd into taking a paycut because he knew no one else would sign him? That would allow for the money to be spent elsewhere.

Nah, no GM would ever do something like that

And they wanted him to take a paycut because he was a mediocre WR who was a giant headcase and psychopath the Patriots didn't want to deal with unless it was a ridiculously good deal.

Well now you're seeing things my way .... he wasn't worth the money for expected production.

I think a better discussion would be WR cap hit in 2012 vs WR cap hit in 2013.

WR cap hit in 2013 I think is around $8 million or so ... 2012 was much higher so WR production in 2013 is not expected to be the same as it was in 2012 and the money will be spent elsewhere. If the production is almost the same in 2013 as it was in 2012 then that's a bonus. Kind of the same reasoning as we won Super Bowls when Tom Brady was actually underpaid as to his production in the Super Bowl years.

man, all this Lloyd talk makes me think of Jet fan blabbing non stop about Braylon Edwards.

let's see what develops in training camp...nobody is going to make any move for Lloyd until the camps start fleshing out the rosters and injuries need to be dealt with.

I'm not sure why you keep tossing out straw men and naked assertions in order to defend your positions. I get that your positions are defenseless in any other way, but it's still incredibly poor discussion tactics and you're usually much more on the ball than this.
