True, if he was "always" open, he'd be getting a lot more targets, drives would stall less and he'd be in the top tier of yards with the other WR's. The truth is, the Pats have been one of the worst teams in getting any separation from their defenders. We don't know how they did this year yet, but it looked just like the last 3 years.
I'm very intrigued to see how the other 31 teams value Meyers. It sure seemed like most of the time he caught the ball, it was when the D played zone and he cleared the MLB. When a good CB pays attention to him, he easily gets erased. He's a fine complementary WR, but Bill can't possible re-sign him if he's wanting more than $12 per year. He's a WR you can find somewhere else.
He's a weirdo, but if Bill thinks he could fix his struggles the last few years, I wouldn't mind it. Pats fans were laughing at Stephon Gilmore when he got torched by Chris Hogan at Buffalo in 2016. Gilmore was a controversial signing and he became an All Pro
Ramsey will be 29 this coming season so he has a few more good years left.
