Based on what, your memory of him from five years ago?
What are talking about? The guy is still a hell of corner.. your arguing that Jones is better? Gilmore better.. now I'll ask you your same question.. Gilmore from 19. Yes absolutely!

Just saw, that Patriots may be in on acquiring Ramsey. If so Diggs will be MIA when we play bills.

We are a good defense without a true lock down corner, we are a elite defense with one... go look at our championship runs with law, revis, Gilmore...

Agreed. And BB is not afraid to pay a #1 corner (unlike #1 WR).

If Meyers was always open and catches everything we'd be much better on Third Downs. Meyers is very overrated here and that's a fact.
True, if he was "always" open, he'd be getting a lot more targets, drives would stall less and he'd be in the top tier of yards with the other WR's. The truth is, the Pats have been one of the worst teams in getting any separation from their defenders. We don't know how they did this year yet, but it looked just like the last 3 years.

I'm very intrigued to see how the other 31 teams value Meyers. It sure seemed like most of the time he caught the ball, it was when the D played zone and he cleared the MLB. When a good CB pays attention to him, he easily gets erased. He's a fine complementary WR, but Bill can't possible re-sign him if he's wanting more than $12 per year. He's a WR you can find somewhere else.

He's a weirdo, but if Bill thinks he could fix his struggles the last few years, I wouldn't mind it. Pats fans were laughing at Stephon Gilmore when he got torched by Chris Hogan at Buffalo in 2016. Gilmore was a controversial signing and he became an All Pro.

Ramsey will be 29 this coming season so he has a few more good years left.
He's gotten progressively worse over the last three seasons, and was a complete disaster this past season.

Edit: He's an upgrade over Myles Bryant, barely, if that's why you're bringing him in, then fine. At $18 million?

My 78 yo dad is an upgrade over Myles Bryant

Yes, still in his prime remember Revis was at the same juncture in his career in Tampa when we traded for him.. at 29... Ramsey is better than any corner we have on the roster right now..

He obviously has potential and was really freaking good in JAX until he mentally checked out after the 2017 season. He was starting to show cracks before the trade to LA and really struggled during the championship run almost losing the games for them. The problem I see with him is that if the Pats are struggling, he will check out.

And Revis was great...for 10 games. And he didn't have the dropoff in Tampa that Ramsey has had in LA.

Revis was slightly different as their dumb azz D coordinator wanted to play him in zone. He mentioned he made a mistake not doing his homework on the scheme Tampa ran before being traded there.

Yes, correct I do remember that. That relationship soured in Tampa, loosing games, and Revis wanted out. Speculation builded, and we ended getting him.

Yeah... not arguing there.. I view Ramsey a bit differently.. he's asked to play more zone in LA, he's a press man corner.. zone isn't his game.. there was alot of infighting with that team.. McVay wasn't even sure he was going to return until recently. However if anything does come of this.. I believe it's perfect for the team.. to aquire him.. yeah it's nice to have guys that try hard, play hard... the little engine that could... however we need guys with length and physicality.

I think he's completely washed and would be a waste of a roster spot for that kind of money.

Ramsey would have a $17m cap charge in 2023 to an acquiring team. Contract runs an additional 2 years, each with $4m roster bonuses due first day of league year but no signing bonus in the cap charges (since stays with the Rams), so can easily be cut if he doesn’t perform. Cap charges if on the roster would be 18.5 and 19.5m in those years.

The potential short term nature of the deal is likely part of why LaCanfora says GMs believe the trade compensation would be nowhere near what some might expect.

Interesting, Gronk lives in New England? He used the word "here" when describing the changes being made to the Patriots. There's a red barn in the bank, evergreen trees. I know he only had an apartment in Tampa based on an article I read about visiting his Mom who lives in the Naples area.
I think he still owns his house in Foxboro
