I wonder what Bob has to say for his article now.

Frankly, his article was just a bunch of wild speculation and conjecture, based on nothing but hot air. And recent events have proven that his speculation and conjecture was off-base.

What he writes is sometimes pretty good, but this was waaay off base from the git-go.

In defence of Bob, there were murmurs about a rift and 99% of what he writes is bloody good.

Agree ... lighten up on Bob ... he was speculating ... not reporting fact.
Problem is with people who can't read.
He provides many good articles and those turkey's who are shooting him down
provide nothing but crap.

I agree as well..Bob is a super writer..he was speculating..thinking and..that is OK...

I wionder what we would be saying if Borges wrote the article.

The only problem with that is that he was speculating the same thing a year ago when Seymour held out. Went into great detail about Seymour's supposed animus about held out in the Jax game. Along with the playbook, players should get a copy of Halberstam's book. "Education of a Coach". While BB learned his bedside manner at Parcell's knee, he definitely didn't approve of The Tuna's policy of a different set of rules for LT. In fact, it bothered him a lot. Hence, his
'the rules are the same for all" policy re:Seymour.

Lay off George. He does decent work. I think he was just having a case of the blues. It happens to us all, we see players leaving, we think everybody is going to go. But we all get a mulligan now and again. However, if the Borges and Felger poo-poo this as too little too late or even worse, the result of fan outrage due to AV, DG and Willie, then we should be ticked.

I think Bob will take a mea culpa and we should let it go.

Show me where he says in the article that he was speculating. It sure looks to me like he is making assertions of fact. Of course, maybe I can't read.

Look, I have nothing against Bob personally and I doubt that anyone else here does, but when someone screws up he deserves to take some hits. And to Bob's credit he was man enough to come and take his lumps.

Sometimes you post something and a couple of days later it happens and you feel like a genius. And sometimes you post something that doesn't happen and, well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I was optimistic, with the available cap space, they'd get this and soon, Branch's deal done. And depending on available cap space after that, maybe a coupls of more players extended who's deal's end soon. IMO, we still need some new parts, most of all at LB and WR, but it's still only April 12th.

George is a hack and he knows it. And now, the first time he attempts to step out on a limb and make a statement he gets it unbelievably wrong.
"Dewey Wins!"
Doesn't surprise me. George has always taken liberties with facts, innuendoes and rumors. In the past it has always been against other teams, players and cocaches in the league so his ballwashing was accepted here. This time, probably to try and make an appeerance of professional sports journalist, he did it with his first ever mildly negative article about the Pats. How's that egg on your face taste Bobby?

What Bob Did Wrong

He failed to prioritize.

Richard Seymour keeps opposing coaches awake at night.

David Givens, Willie McGinest, and Adam Vinatari don't.

It's that simple, Bob.

"Play-makers" on the defensive line are truly coveted; if you have one you don't for the love of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus let him go. Especially if he's still a youngster.

Richard Seymour exorcises the ghost of Kenneth Simms for us old-time Patriot fans. So it won't be Detroit after all.

My thoughts exactly....you and I and the rest of the "old timers" ALWAYS yearned for a top notch DL and season after season got All Star linebackers and corners but never what truly defines a great defense.Where was OUR Reggie White all these years?...well NOW we have a young experienced solid at every position D line...and it makes me very satisfied

This is an excellent summary. Richard Seymour is arguably the best in the biz at what he does. There is no replacement for him. I am very sad that McGinest has gone, but he is a mid-30's LBer... not the best guy you want to lock up for 4 years.
