Bedard: Grier is next in line if Mac fails this week

That’s the key. I don’t think he is. I think Mac Jones wasn’t a Bill pick but more of a Kraft pick.

He never invested in the offense because he always thought Mac wasn’t worth it. Better to invest in D a try to win 17-13 and make himself look like a genius but it backfired.
I don’t agree both Bill and Josh went to see him Bill is a Saban guy you can’t tell me Bill didn’t pick Mac.

I meant indecisive in throwing into actual NFL windows they are throwing windows in a which a QB have to stick some throws. Mac struggles mightily is that area yeah he can throw over the middle but he doesn't trust himself throwing outside. IF I'm a DC that's the book on Mac CLOG the Middle dare him to throw to the boundaries. Our Outside WR's are running aimlessly because the football ain't never coming their way. BB would demoralize a QB like Mac if he was the opponent why does he think he think he could win with him consistently?? Checkers vs chess or arrogance??

But nothing you said here is that he is indecisive. You are talking about his struggles to throw to boundaries which is different.

But part of the problem is the Pats don't have a slot receiver who can get open quickly over the middle like they used to. So it is easy to take away the middle of the field. It isn't all on Mac.

Worst QB room in football.

Note: GM Bill handpicked each and every room member.

Note 2.0: GM Bill also handpicked every WR, OL, Gunner, etc.....and every Friends & Family staff and sacred cow coach as well.

Yes they do Pop Douglas he was their Best WR in the Preseason too but for some reason they are playing bad Juju more than him smh.

"From talking to people around the team"... whatever that means. An opinion but probably a more informed one than a random guess.

Agreed but people always talk to other "people" that share their outlook. So commonly reporters confirm their own opinions while talking to "sources" that commonly agree with the person they are leaking to.

How about a slot receiver who plays more than 20-30% of the passing plays. Douglas barely plays.

people keep saying it can't get worse than Mac the last 2 weeks.
Yes, it absolutely can. At least Mac has completed some very good passes during that time.
He hasn't looked as bad as Zach Wilson did last year.
I don't think Grier is going to be any better. His only playing time came in 2019, and he had 4 INT's on 52 attempts with a 33 passer rating.

If that happens, I would be happy with Grier and Cunningham as his backup, Mac third string and Zappe gone.

The point really isn’t who would be better next week, unless there were a glaring difference, the point is who is more likely to develop into a legit qb. Wasting your time with a guy who has no shot because you want to exact revenge on the first round pick for sliding backwards is an emotional response not a reasoned one

Through the first three games, Mac had one of the shortest times to throw of any QB in the league. I don't get where this "he's too indecisive" came from. If he was too indecisive, he would have like 30 sacks already this year. There is a lot of criticize against Mac right now, but I don't know where the "he is too indecisive" came from. If anything, he might be too quick to make throws at times and rushes them.
Being indecisive includes bailing on plays before they develop. It also includes being a tick or 2 late pulling the trigger and missing the window, one of his biggest issues.

If he doesn't have time to allow a play develop, you cannot be indecisive. And if anything, he is delivering the ball too early rather than too late.

Zappe technically hasn't lost a start. He should get a shot with a full week's prep as starter etc and none of this mop up duty where he is thrown in when morale is already dead.

Just because he hasn't technically a lost a start doesn't mean he deserves a chance to start again. Don't you think if Belichick felt that Zappe gave him the best chance to win right now, he would start him? Why would he be dropping to third on the depth chart (assuming this story is true) if he was good enough to win games?

Check down Mac.

BB is Not living up to that mantra.

Honestly, BB clearly knows defense but on offense I see know reason to trust BB. Sticking by Mac feels no different than waiting for Ocho or Harry to finally become competent. I don't think Zappe is overly talented but it feels like he just hasn't gotten a chance to even fail when Mac has unlimited chances because he is a 1st round pick.

I actually liked Grier, but I still want Zappe to get one start 1st. Or even Cunningham. Cunningham makes the most sense if the line can't block.
