Asomugha to JEST a good thing!??!

We're drafting OLs,TE,RB's. Mankins is looking good. Why shouldn't i believe that our running game is going to improve? Certainly can't decline can it?

It can. It was good last year with good health and career years from two running backs. A few injuries, a dropoff in performance from Light/Crumpler/Koppen to Solder/older Crumpler and Koppen, and you easily are doing worse.

I think it will be better but there's a very, very good chance it gets worse.

Of course it can. I'm not saying that it will, but there's certainly the possibility.

Leaving out the possibility of injuries...i'm feeling confident about our running game.

It's the D that is the question mark for me.

Again, the rookies RBs have shown nothing. The team may be starting a rookie at LT. There is nothing but homerism that can make you have confidence in the RB game being able to beat the Jets, since the RB game couldn't do it last year in the playoffs.

Now, taking that sort of "on faith" position is your right, but there's nothing underpinning it right now.

How does one team continue to win off season championships year after year?

Great question. It's comforting to know that the Jets will win the SB now that there is a rumor about a 30-year-old Raider who did not get a single interception last year is interested in signing a huge deal at a position that the Jets don't need to fill.

This is the same thing Jets fans repeatedly were told going into this offseason. Wasn't it supposed to be impossible for the Jets to sign anyone this year?

At this point it's silly to act like Tannenbaum doesn't have a plan for now and the future with every move he makes.

yeah..he sure planned that Goatston draft pick to perfection

and Kris "The Beast!!!!!!" Jenkins sure backed up all the bigmouthed flapgum Rat degenerate fans in between the toecheeseburger fests all season...

I mean, why should idiotic, moronic Rat degenerate lovers care that their offense can't even get one measley yard in four tries from the 1 yard line against a decimated Pittsburgh defense...they just threw 50 million MORE dollars at Sanphonyo for just standing there and doing ZERO.

after 42 straight years of NOTHING, Rat fan sure has earned the right to blow gas...like their degenerate head coach.

Really? You are embarrassing the knowledgeable Patriots fans on this site using interceptions as a stat to judge a cornerback's play.

Understand the position before you comment on it.

They kind of do have a hole there, but there certainly isnt a need for someone of Nnamdi's skill. Who else do they have that's good besides Revis? Their first rounder from last year couldn't fight his way onto the field too much. Cro is gone.

You also realize that he doesn't have many picks because he is thrown at probably less than Revis, right? Why would you give the Raiders best defensive player opportunities to take the ball away when the rest of their defense is sub par?

I'm pretty sure the rest of his resume more than makes up for the one bust draft pick of Gholston, which by the way was mainly Eric Mangini's doing.

1.) The Jets do need to fill the position.

2.) Teams don't throw against Asomugha. He was only thrown against 31 times all last season. Even then, with QBs avoiding him and being extra careful against him, he allowed less than a 40% completion rate.

3.) While he was targeted more than Asomugha, Revis allowed an even lower completion percentage.

If you don't think a duo of Asomugha/Revis would be expected to be absolutely incredible, you're fooling yourself.

That is an outright lie...you are a liar. Welcome to ignore ,troll.

I've never believed this claim. Tanny was plenty proud of Gholston before the pick went sour but once Mangini was gone he blamed the old guy.

He's the GM; if he let Mangini bully him into a crap pick than he screwed up in his job.

It's a two-way street, because he probably was the one who wanted Revis so badly. Mangini was the DB coach originally with the Pats.

I want Asomugha to be a Jet! BRING IT ON! GAME ON!

How about this? 3 TE set with RB and FB...5 linemen and Brady. Run that against the Jets and their 2 elite CBs. Two TEs could go wide and do the box out on them beating them to a pulp in the process. Or you could run on them.

What do you think? DIscuss.

I like this idea. It would be pretty funny...you'd almost want edelmenski running the offense as he is a threat to run with it! Just line up and smash them to pieces or do the quick turnaround to a TE for 5 yards plus yac.

Take off your homer hats for a few minutes and imagine Nnamdi to the Jets. If you are a football purist you gotta love the idea of TB going up against the best secondary in modern history 2-3x a year dontcha?? New York/Boston, Belichick/Ryan, Offense/Defense, so many story lines. There is so much more satisfaction in beating a good team than a crappy team, right? I dont expect everyone to be so bold as to emplore competition, but isnt that what we watch football for to begin with?
to be honest i like to see the pats humiliate teams when ever they can especially the jets. i don't care if the game is close as long as the pats win.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Jets would love seeing Edleman at QB instead of Brady almost as much as you.

I ain't worried. We still beat them 45 - 3 with two of the best CBs in the league on their team.

To be the best, you have to beat the best...

Just makes a Patriot win over the Jests that much more satisfying....

Patriots defense has to come up with error free games and beat Sanchez...doesn't sound too bad a deal......Snachez can't keep having all his potential INT's dropped forever.....

Is anybody else less than concerned about Asomugha on the Jets than I am? He's a fantastic talent but I can't help but remember the ass-kicking Matt Cassel put on him and the Raiders in 2008 passing for 4 TD's, 2 of which I can recall Cassel directly targeted Asomguha.

Cromartie has a habit for picking off Brady. He's a Patriots pain in the butt and I'd be happy to see the Jets move him.

You mean he PLANNED to need 10 mill of cap hits to be waived unprecedentedly in order to be 7 mill under the cap before signing draft picks with half a dozen starters and a bunch more reserves unsigned?
Can he pleasde keep planning for the Jets?

You are excited about a plan that takes the GOAT and makes him irrelevant?
Can't wait for the Mallett era I bet.
