Are you all in on CB Travis Hunter at 4 (Hunter as a WR?)

96 catches for 1256 yards and 15 touchdowns literally without practicing on offense isn’t dominant enough? While also shutting down opposing receivers.
Not in the SEC or Big 10? Ya, not impressed playing against weak competition. So these stats are suspect at best.

Travis Hunter. 6 3/8" 188. 76" wingspan Combine measurement.

Tyreek Hill. 5'10 185 lbs.

Devonta Smith 6' 170 lbs.

Ja'marr Chase. 6' 201 lbs.

Justin Jefferson 6'1 195 lbs.

Malik Nabers 6'0 200 lbs.

Jerry Jeudy 6'1 195 lbs.

I could go on but there's no point. Travis Hunter is well within the size range of top star WRs in the NFL.

I seriously doubt that gaining 5-10 lbs of muscle will be hard for him in a pro strength and conditioning program.

Additional weight can be gained, natural talent cannot.
I hear ya VJC, but Chase et al were certified stud #1s, playing in the best conferences in college football. I'm not picking "someone with potential" at #4 for any position, never mind WR1!

The draft has a generational talent at WR every year or two.
That term gets thrown around too easily. Heck I’m sure I was guilty of calling Marvin Harrison Jr. that last year. I was impressed by what I saw from him in college but statistically speaking he wasn’t even one of the three best rookie WRs at the end of last season. When I think of generation prospects at WR I think of Ja’Marr Chase in 2021, Calvin Johnson in 2007, Randy Moss in 1998. I find Travis Hunter to be a unique prospect who will be a star in this league if he commits to either position, but not the same class of generational talent as the aforementioned WRs.

Harrison could still be great next year. Too soon to give up on him

You have two shots with him, if he excels at receiver, Great, if not he could be a good cb. Chances are he excels at one of the positions.

Look if Travis Hunter only turns into a Jaylin Waddle instead of a Randy Moss, I think most of us will still be very happy with him. He's a blue chip prospect and still WR1 according to most NFL draft analysts such as Kiper, Phil Simms, and Todd McShay.

Here's a video with more details of why Simms thinks Hunter is this year's top WR1.

Phil Simms believes Travis Hunter can become an all-pro wide receiver and is a very mature route runner. Pro Comp: Garrett Wilson.

I'm a solid hell naw on Hunter. A smallish guy who's not particularly dominant on offense or defense? Weaksauce. Ya, no thank you. Not at 4, I don't care about his "elite athleticism". He's a wee fella.
If he is there at 4 and we pass on Hunter, I’m going to Jail,

Tbf not all generational prospects break out year 1. Hell MHJ's own father who is a HOF'er didn't really show that he was elite until 1999 after 3 years in the league.

teams are generally disappointed if players picked in the top 5 aren't top starters in Year 1 or year 2, perhaps other than QB.

MHJ is a definitely a starter. He's just not elite yet. He would instantly be the best WR on this team last year and it's not even close.
