That’s why last year’s draft when we went defense with Marty Mapoo in the third round after Gonzalez and Keion White in the first two rounds was a farcical GM move by BB.QB (legit vet, or 1st rounder ready to play)
LT/RT (new franchise LT, and RT - if Onwenu moves back to RG)
WR (legit #1, re-sign Bourne, + 2 more with real talent)
RB (3rd down change of pace)
TE (new threat to replace Gesicki)
Not taking a QB because the team has many holes doesn't make sense to me.
QB is the most important position in sports.
I realize that.A quarterback can't function well with too many needs around him. Your team is in the process of slowly realizing that.
I realize that.
But when is there going to be a QB class like this again? And how do you know the Patriots will be able to grab one?
Why? Denver extend him?The Jeudy ship has sailed love Calvin Ridley but the Jags might retain him 24 Great year to double dip @ WR some good ones will be available.
And some weapons on offense. We need a qb and two OTs.
I'm also skeptical of the Keion White pick. This is spot on. That’s why last year’s draft when we went defense with Marty Mapoo in the third round after Gonzalez and Keion White in the first two rounds was a farcical GM move by BB.
I agree with your general premise, but without an OL, the QB won't have the time to throw to elite WR's.Tyreek hill made Tua elite. If Marvin Harrison is like that , draft the beast. Maybe 2 -3 stud wide receivers make any qb QB- elite.
If Zappe plays simply "good," we're going to find out to end this season. They are not a QB away being even an "ok" team.
Saying QB's don't have magic powers is not the same as saying a team can win with bad QB play. Are you finally warming up to the "magic quarterback" narrative?
Depends on the QB which in turn is at the mercy of his receiving and play calling.I'm skeptical of this. Not impressed with the OL. The defense can best be described as well coached, rather than talented. I think you can make an argument to trade down and spread out the draft value. I know those top QBs are tempting and sometimes QB can hide a lot of flaws but I'm not thrilled with the roster and I'd accept a lesser QB to build up the OL, DL and running game. Hell, if we can build the line enough I'd keep rolling with Zappe In my mind the key to take a step forward with this roster is the left side of the line, not so much QB.
The NCAA coaches stopped training pocket QBs for the NYFL and started using running QBs that help them keep their jobs. That resulted in less pocket QBs, which is what you still need in the NYFL to win.I realize that.

Is it me or are there more drops in the NYFL these days? It seems like it.Depends on the QB which in turn is at the mercy of his receiving and play calling.
Mahomes or a healthy Joe Burrow instantaneously makes this a playoff team.
But as we've seen lately in KC, WRs need to catch the ball or the QB will have a harder time
At first when I saw that last line I thought it was a contradiction, but I understand what you meant. The problem is that in the case of Brady it's impossible to overrate what he's done in the game.Saying QB's don't have magic powers is not the same as saying a team can win with bad QB play.
It's saying the difference between elite QB's at the top is almost negligible, in exact similar conditions they'd be almost indecipherable.
QB's are the most important position in football, they're also entirely overrated by most fans.
The patriots are probably a robust 7 and 6 with decent qb play.
