This was done within days of free agency, though. I'm almost sure that it was changed before his mid week visit to Nola last week.

Of course there is, just because NO signs him to an offer sheet done mean the Pats will settle for what they have to offer in exchange. I for one am not convinced the Pats will take #32 for him, the earlier pick I am confident they would. Taking all this into consideration I think he plays for NE this year and beyond that will see how it all plays out.
