Holy Crap - - if they re-sign HT and Butler (after getting Ealy and perhaps Odrick as upgrades over Sheard and Long).....all they have to really do is go shopping in the draft for two stud LBs and this Defense may be historically good this season.

I am very surprised HT wasn't amongst the first wave of high priced FAs to go... would have pegged him as one of the prizes to grab, but obviously that has not been the case.

TE--return of Gronk and blocking TE Mike Williams, with the addition of Dwayne Allen. No obvious changes here.

OL--need to draft or add a tackle

RB--need to draft or add a running back

For the Pats? I think they need to move on from Blount, but as for Peterson and Charles, unless it's a 1 year/~$2M deal, I wouldn't want either.

They should grab a RB or two in the draft.

Offense doesnt need anything except a Big back, and a developmental WR, Tackle, TE, and maybe QB. Backs are cheap, and the other 4 you can get in mid-late rounds in draft. Nothing to worry about offensively. Keep loading this defense!!!

My useless opinion. He kinda wants to leave. However, his market is drier than he thought and may end up coming back somewhat begrudgingly for about the same amount he was offered in the offseason.

I think he's praying a much better deal comes in, but at this point that is unlikely.

Did your useless opinion come to you in a dream? Kidding, but I disagree. I think he's doing his due diligence to get the best deal outside NE and then I think he comes back and see's how close the Pats can get to it.

Lol no it didn't. It just feels like the market isn't where he thought it was. No smoke anywhere and no visits that have been floated. Strange for a high profile guy like him. I mean, Bennett and Sheard are already done.

The "due diligence" is code for offers not where we expected.

I don't know If a team was gonna give more they would have already. Not saying I don't think a team could decide out of the blue to offer more than he has been offered, just saying we are almost through 4 days of FA (2 days of legal tampering and 2 days of FA) and all we've heard is Titans and Pats with a lukewarm link to the lolphins. Maybe there is a surprise team but if there is not like they have bowled him over or he would have signed.

Bill is usually in the ballpark when it comes to value for a guy. Wouldn't surprise me if the $10m from the Pats was the best offer he got.

Yet some people on here were acting like Hightower had 10 teams lined up ready to easily pay him 15m+ per year
