Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Anybody who thinks Hurts is a better QB than Maye needs to reevaluate how they look at QB's. Maye is unquestionably better than Hurts today and the margin will only grow going forward. Hurts is the definition of a game manager who has benefited from playing on a great team with both a great defense and elite RB, OL and WR's. Brown has been an elite WR there is no question about that. He has been one of the major reasons why the Eagles have been as good as they have been since he has been there. Now the question for the Pats is how long will he remain an elite receiver. Brown was not nearly as bad last year as many think he was. Go look at the last eight games last year. He struggled early like the entire offense did but he was very good in the last eight games of last year. If the Pats get that guy for the next two to three years we will be very happy. Now the cost you can argue, I have already said I do not like giving up an unprotected first round pick. Pushing it out to 2028 helps but stuff happens and if the season goes sideways that can be a high pick. I would like it better if it was protected 1-15 or so.
I disagree that Hurts was a game manager. He was a big factor in that SB win, and probably wins SB MVP if they had beaten KC the first time.

As I always said when people used to diss Brady by calling him a game manager or system’s QB, you still have to make those throws. It’s the QB throwing those passes. Hurts was excellent in both of his SB games, despite losing one.

Never seen a protected pick deal in the NFL. That's an NBA and NHL thing.

Hell no; he isn’t. Maye is individually already a better overall QB than Hurts will ever be. I like Hurts, but he is severely limited in multiple areas of his game. He also benefited from the most stacked roster in the league since he’s been there. Has Hurts ever been an MVP or even a runner up???? Negative. Besides the OC/scheme in PHI, why the hell do you think the players (AJ Brown, D. Smith & multiple OL) have been hyper critical of the offensive production (or lack thereof) in Philadelphia?? I’ll give you a hint……if something is “aching” on your body, that means it………
You put Maye, Stafford, or any other truly good QB in that stacked '25 Eagles offense and you get a legendary season. Instead it was Hurts and they got a dysfunctional season, disappointment, and finger pointing.
