Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
You've worn this gif out.....just sayin

The staff in his group home tell Patsfan2 to " use your words" dozens and dozens of toiles a day, but he just hasn't been able to clear that hurdle yet. So Antonio Banderas it is, and probably always will be.

Key word, WAS.

That was years ago. He is still a low grade number 1 today. He had Smith that teams needed to to watch out for as well in Philly.
Let's see... who were the QBs AJ had in Tennessee and in Philadelphia?..

Now.. Let's go ahead and compare them to the QB he will have now...

Hurts >>> Maye at this point
Hurts has been a full time starter for 5 years and hasn’t come close to having a passing season like Maye did last year, his second season and first season as a full time starter.
I didn’t think it was possible but your takes are getting even worse.

The Eagles seem ready to move on from Hurts after this season. I am betting if Eliot Wolf offered Howie Roseman Drake Maye, Roseman would give Wolf both AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts straight up (pending any salary cap issues).
And if he did, Wolf should be immediately fired and investigated.

There is no way this would ever happen, and if the Pats offered Maye for trade it would take much more than that.

Just countering the statement that Hurts is way better than Maye at this point. Wolf ain't making that trade.

Kraft clearly wouldn't let this happen.

Sam can no longer have a serious or interesting discussion about anything, he simply says **** like this to be aggravating. He's a pretty sad pathetic person.

7 years is a good chunk of time NFLwise

Only 3 years longer than Doubs himself.

Hurts >>> Maye at this point
Hell no; he isn’t. Maye is individually already a better overall QB than Hurts will ever be. I like Hurts, but he is severely limited in multiple areas of his game. He also benefited from the most stacked roster in the league since he’s been there. Has Hurts ever been an MVP or even a runner up???? Negative. Besides the OC/scheme in PHI, why the hell do you think the players (AJ Brown, D. Smith & multiple OL) have been hyper critical of the offensive production (or lack thereof) in Philadelphia?? I’ll give you a hint……if something is “aching” on your body, that means it………

Hurts is at the root of AJ's *****ing and moaning.

He doesn't pass the ball enough to the middle of the field. The eagles coaches/GM are making a concerted effort to make that happen with Makai Lemon.

Patrick Mahomes > Fernando Mendoza

Is Patrick Mahomes > Fernando Mendoza?

Should I start a thread on the difficult question?

I felt Hurts went from a top 10 NFL QB to a top 5 with his Super Bowl performance vs KC. He definitely took a step back last year, but he’s still a very good QB. Maye had a great season, if he duplicates or even betters last years performance, he will solidly be ensconced in the discussion of top 5 QBs in the NFL. Last year, he was top 2. Hopefully he is consistent.

Anybody who thinks Hurts is a better QB than Maye needs to reevaluate how they look at QB's. Maye is unquestionably better than Hurts today and the margin will only grow going forward. Hurts is the definition of a game manager who has benefited from playing on a great team with both a great defense and elite RB, OL and WR's. Brown has been an elite WR there is no question about that. He has been one of the major reasons why the Eagles have been as good as they have been since he has been there. Now the question for the Pats is how long will he remain an elite receiver. Brown was not nearly as bad last year as many think he was. Go look at the last eight games last year. He struggled early like the entire offense did but he was very good in the last eight games of last year. If the Pats get that guy for the next two to three years we will be very happy. Now the cost you can argue, I have already said I do not like giving up a unprotected first round pick. Pushing it out to 2028 helps but stuff happens and if the season goes sideways that can be a high pick. I would like it better if it was protected 1-15 or so.

Hurts is a product of his athleticism. Guys get open because teams are worried about his running ability.

Guys like this have small windows to win because their cliff falls are steep and sudden.

The second their athleticism starts fading due to age and mileage and their passing windows start narrowing, they typically don't have the accuracy to overcome their loss of their scrambling threat.
