Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Diggs had over 1000yds at age 32 so, it's not really the cliff for a proven Wide Receiver.
Yeah, what I am trying to say is that while Brown may still be a good and productive receiver by then, he would be slowing down. As we could all see last year, while Diggs was still a good player, he was not prime Diggs. Even factoring in the return from injury, that is apparent. The team is currently trading for what is effectively prime AJ Brown, or close to prime, but in 3-4 years he will not be that anymore. He may still be a player capable of a 1000 yard season but his skillset would most likely be diminished to some degree. So, you would probably not want to be paying top of the market WR rates for that. However he may still have value - look at Davante Adams in LA last year, who is 34 and was a very valuable player for the Rams but was not their #1. Of course, his AAV is also only around $20M, so that's commensurate with his decline. Hopefully that makes sense.

I was going to mention Davante Adams too: who's best year to date came @ age 29. The same age A.J. will be this upcoming season. IF A.J. shows he can consistently beat #1 coverage: I don't think anyone here would be upset.

I think Adams is a good reference point for Brown. Also, who was Adams playing for when he had his best season? Josh McDaniels.
