2025 LT

If Campbell does well at LT I don't think you just kick him inside and I am not believer that he can just slide into LG and be a pro bowler.
I'm ok with Will Campbell on a Trade Down wouldn't be too happy if we took him 4 overall.

I agree, but it looks like that is the way it might go down
I still think the 4 spot is going be hot if the Giants pass on Sanders. Jeanty - Warren and Graham still on the Board.

Out of curiosity, I looked at the OT rankings for the 2026 draft. Draft buzz gives the players scores. I don’t know what people think of that web site, I was looking for something objective.

They have three tackles rated higher than anyone this year. And two of those guys are rated much higher.

Banks and Campbell are rated at 89.1 and 88.9
Next year they have Mauigoa and Proctor rated at 93.4 and 93.1.

I’m thinking we might be best off making due at the position this year and looking to draft the long term answer at OT next year.

We should be watching Utah next year apparently. Two of their 4 top rated tackles are from there.

Their top rated guy is a RT and the Lt from Utah is sub 300, I think. I have not watched any of them but honestly I do not think it would be the worst idea to skip reaching for a LT. Take a developmental guy and let Marone and Josh do their thing.

I like the idea of taking Will Campbell at 4. But then drafting Charles Grant later, like at 106.

So next season the former Tiger is LT1 and former wrestler Grant with the better length gets developed. We have an excellent OL coach now. Finally.

But the goal is to make Grant LT1 and kick Campbell the LG. Suddenly the left side could. COULD be special.
Last mock draft I saw Charles Grant was going 32 to the Chiefs. Like at 106? That is a fantasy, you might think a bit more realistically.

Thanks. Some of us have been saying all along that we can not fill all the holes in 1 year.

So, is the plan to draft at #4 again so that we can get on of the top OT's in 2026?

Are you saying that if they don't draft a LT then they are drafting at 4 in 2026? I don't think they draft top 10 next year for a couple of reasons: their schedule is not that difficult on paper right now but that could change with teams performing better next year and they have better coaching.

Even if they run Lowe out as the starting LT, I think that Josh is going to make a huge impact on the offense. Then throw in Diggs being a great route runner that can get open fairly quickly. I am just as concerned with LG as I am with LT. I see this team winning 8-9 games this year, the defense should keep this team in most games.

I wouldn’t worry about next year’s draft prospects too much. This time last year everyone was saying Campbell was a blue chipper and a stud OT prospect too.

He's saying we won't have a shot at the high rated OT's next year because we won't have a high pick.

Were they? I was fantasizing about the possibility of Caedan Wallace at LT and it came true! Oh, wait, no.

Year Two if a three year rebuild. Massachusetts millionaires tax and cold rural environment hurt. But BB and last year’s drafting ineptitude hurt most of all.

yup, and now he is only rated as one of the top 10 (top 5 by some) in the draft.

"I've heard talk that Missouri's Armand Membou could be the first offensive lineman taken, before LSU's Will Campbell. The right tackle prospect has received rave reviews from scouts because of his elite movement skills and power in the run game. There's a belief that his agility could allow him to move to left tackle in the pros, which would put him in play for the Patriots at No. 4 overall."

Appreciate you sharing because I'm not paying for intel that doesn't seem know that New Orleans is rumored to be set on Jaxson Dart as their QB. So Shadeur could very well fall to 21.

I will continue to beat the drum that LT is going to be over drafted and the top 6 guys could conceivably be gone at #38. I haven't seen Grant that high but it's not out of the realm of reality. Campbell, Banks, Simmons, Ersery, Conerly and Membou seem to be the top ranked OT players. Now you're into guys playing OT projecting guard all the way: Zabel, Mbow, Milum, Savainaea and the like. I don't find it a stretch to see Grant, Trapilo and even later guys like Belton, Pierce or Jones moving up draft boards. Certainly, to your point, there could be 12 or more guys listed as college OTs picked before pick 100. That doesn't even take into consideration guys like Tate Rateledge who are top end guards going early on day 3, and I am leaving out probably a handful of OTs as well.

So you are a Campbell or bust guy?
