2025 League cutdown discussion

I've never understood this line of thinking.

Your ass is Mine until I say your ass isn't Mine... Which in this case is 4pm Tuesday and Not One Minute earlier.
A player you know you’re not keeping and is not needed to competitively practice pulls a groin walking to the dining hall. All of a sudden, he’s injured on the job and entitled to an injury settlement. Doesn’t make a lot of sense letting a fired employee stay on premises, does it.

The only disadvantage I could see is you might be altering other teams what positions you might be looking to the waiver wire for. Say we need an IOL but we release one or more (the league certainly understands the needs of other teams), this could tell the league we will be scouring the wire, and maybe they keep an IOL they thought they could sneak thru to their PS. Have to consider all scenarios.

Do guys a solid and word gets around that you’re good to play for. Lord knows the franchise could use a bit of that now given the last five years.

More practice time for the ones you didn't cut?

In the end it probably makes no difference, but you are making it easier for other teams to know what you thought.

Glad they released names early rather than waiting for the nonsense at 4pm Tuesday.
The Pats seem to be leading the way on this - likely getting ready to scour the cuts/waiver wire for younger veteran players ideally

At this stage a lot of the cuts from other teams are looking like CFL and USFL players at best but as we get to the final 53 I have to think there will be some additional room carved out on our 53 to be able to sign some guys
