Chiefs only had around $12M cap space, curious how much they're paying Thuney.

EDIT: 5 years $80M, that's $16M a year. Even if that's backloaded, that's still most of their cap space on 1 dude.

Thanks for spelling it out for the bozos that are seriously too dense to see the correlation between what you can do in FA when u have a lot of space (eg. 2017 and 2021) compared to years where it is tighter because you are paying players that are already on your team.

Today would have not been possible without washing us free from 63m in what a Brady two year extension would have looked like (2*25m + 13m in dead money that we were already bouncing backwards).
Yeah, umm....

The Chiefs just signed Joe Thuney. 5 years, $80 million. Try again.

We don’t really have many of our own that are priorities.
Thuney.
Andrews but I think we draft the next C.
I think they move on from White.
who else is more than just depth in a perfect world?

My list includes
Andrews
White
Guy
Butler
Folk

I think that it's great that the list is small.

more than $12 AAV
Are you really asking what his 2021 cap hit will be? No one knows. We'll see on Wednesday evening.

No, just curious what the average value is... if that's heavily backloaded then his cap hit is gonna be huge towards the end

Agreed.

Agreed

Golloday and Juju will be around 35 million/per, which is too much.

Sign Davis or Samuel, Humphries and Manny Sanders...suddenly we don't look so bad at WR.
[/QUOTE]
Just one of those WRs would be nice.

You mean that his numbers are able to be manipulated? But... but... Patsfans.com!

I think Mahomes restructured and opened up a ****ton of space very recently. You sure the 12m are correct ?

If he plays tackle for them then kudos on Reid & co. for having the balls to try it.
Would he only take 16 mill to play tackle though? Seems like the tackle market could've added on a fair bit extra to that 80 mill.

I Was thinking Chiefs would so something like this honestly that’s a ton of money for Thuney

I pulled it off OTC so yeah maybe it hasn't taken it into account yet.

You know my feelings on Andrews
I think they move in from white.
I’d love to see Guy return and if not an equal replacement signed.
Butler doesn’t do anything for me.
Im sure they will sign folk and have a k competition.

There are still depth guys like wise, Byrd, Simon to consider.
On that note, last years defense has replaced Bentley with Hightower and Simon with judon. And it was the #8 defense.

I'm a little amazed at this. Is Thuney that much better than Eric Fisher? I know they play different positions, but you're paying a premium for a guard and you badly need an LT.

They're losing almost all of their OL from last year, so they pretty much have to focus their attention on replacements.
