2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Great third period as Bruins took control of the period and the game.Tuuka silences critics. PP needs work and Pasta turnovers are unbelievable. All in all, good confidence returning to Boston with momentum.

Family crisis, injury, something else? These, what I'll call, lapses are hard to fathom...

Understood. The parallel I was trying to draw (possibly badly) was, after game 3, Bobr may be singularly unable to be beat in a 7 game series. And Dryden is my point of reference for something like that -- where he himself just simply was not going to allow enough goals to lose a 7 game series. I don't believe Bobr has been so good that the Bruins can't score enough goals to win this series (not really even that close either) -- despite that seemingly/possibly being the case after game 3.

The media nonsense around Bob being unbeatable was just silly. Yes prior to tonight he was the best player on the ice for either team but not by much, Tuukka was right there with him. Of course the Rask sucks mediots who got out their own knee pads for Bob won't acknowledge Tuukka was better tonight. The fact remains, whether that moron Felger likes it or not, Bob and the CBJ had allowed exactly ONE less goal than Boston going into tonight's game. But yeah, Bob was God and Rask sucks...smdh.

There's nothing wrong with acknowledging both netminders were playing very very well. This is hockey, it's not a zero sum game.

Cassidy is sticking by Pasta whatever it is.
Speaking of which, if nothing else this team buys into what their coaching staff is selling. There's a lot to like about that.

I know we're on a football forum but playoff hockey is so damn engrossing.

The entire last 10 mins are akin to that final 4th quarter drive where you score you win, you don't score and u lose, and a few brutally intense 4th down conversions thrown in .
Playoff hockey intensity, in that 3rd period, is over the edge, cut with a knife tension.

Football is the sport of gods but playoff hockey is a damn damn fine thing.

I'm not saying anything ... and it's working.
I found the formula ... Go Bruins!

Even at two and now in a best-of-three series with two at home. The odds favor the Bruins. But they've got to start playing more like it.

its a highly addictive drug. my appetite for Bruins playoff hockey cant be satisfied.

It's crack cocaine laced with PCP. I sometimes can't watch for stretches at time.

That may well be Rask’s best game ever in the playoffs, he was exceptional. Pasternk was erratic but they need to keep him with Marchand and Bergeron the rest of the way, he fell apart when they moved him. Marchand played like the Marchand of old last night, multiple stupid penalties, Rask saved his ass. Like the Toronto series they are being outplayed, but they are hanging in there. It would be nice to see them start playing with some cohesion, right now they are just scratching and clawing to stay alive.

Why are they allowing breakaway shots with the penalty advantage!?!
The B's power play shape has evolved in recent years with only one player positioned on the blue line at times, often a smaller skill player ...Krug, Pasta...who have been muscled off the puck far too often and much too easily. Rask saved their ass all night.

Seems clear part of Columbus' game plan is too tenderize Pasta every second he is on the ice. They have been kicking the crap out of him all up and down the ice. Debrusk seems to be getting the same treatment.

Our little ball of hate made quite an impact last night, just gifting power plays to Columbus. Columbus has certainly gotten into his head as well. The games within the game during playoff hockey are tremendous. The B's goaded Kadri last series and he snapped like a twig. Lets hope Marchand can maintain more control. I could never be a hockey coach because I would be barkin at and benchin Marchand for his incessant nonsense.

Columbus plays like Claude's Bruins from a few years ago. Big, not much skill.....wear down the opposition and capitalize on mistakes. Last night in the 3rd....trailing by a goal....Columbus had to play more offensive hockey which they are not good at and the ice opened up for the B's and their skill guys finally had some space to operate.
Scoring first is huge.

I'm amazed we haven't seen any fighting in this series.
I guess a still don't understand why crosschecks don't get called in front of the net. Does someone's spine need to snap in half before 2 minutes get called. Can't slap the hands with your stick but vertebrae are fair game
Gotta love the toughness of hockey players who pick themselves off the ice even after getting organs ruptured.
This Bruin team just might have to play 28 games with every minute mattering. No sporting event compares to playoff hockey.

I agree on all of this. Not just in front of the net either. McAvoy got popped from behind on the same play they called interference. That should have been a two man advantage.

Even if the Bruins win in 7 games I'll call it an under performance. They should win this in no more than 6. They are just the better team but haven't played like it much of this series.

Also the other series besides the Hurricans is also at 2-2. IF they win this series they may get lucky and have another top team knocked out for them.

can the islanders please put a beating on carolina before they dissapear into the void this year? wth

Amen!
We knew coming into this one we were looking at a 6-7 game series but would it be too much to ask not to have to face two well rested opponents in a row?

I would guess thumb injury that limits his fell and control. That, or an evil spell.
I agree on the thumb and he just generally seems run down. They've obviously identified him as a target. They knock his block off every chance they get. Hopefully they win this series and the next one will be easier on Pasta. Glad he finally got a great shot off, and a great goal, last night.

Go Bruins!!!

He needs to put on some beef.

I wanted to give Rask some props for last night. He didn't steal the game, IMO, because of the way the scoring played out, but he was brilliant, and he made sure that Bob wouldn't be able to steal it.

So.... Mr. Rask

I am very critical of Rask and have to admit he was on point last night. Fantastic performance. Let's hope he stays in that zone and this team may be hoisting a Stanley Cup.

Pasta looked like the old Pasta and a mess in this game. Will the real pasta stand up?
they need to at least sit him on the pp. McAvoy should be playing on the pp with Krug. they are giving up so many break aways and odd-man rushes its ridiculous.
