As suggested by Patriots Rumor - A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?,

Given there is a LOT of time to kill between now and June 1st, let's have a poll.

I want your BEST GUESS, so only one choice is allowed.

I didn't include a "this should not happen" choice, I think we should first see if we're in agreement on what the deal most likely is, then have a yes/no poll.

"Firm deal exists, does not include any 1sts" covers all the permutations of other draft picks and players, too many to consider for this poll.

Can there really be a deal in place?

What if June 1st comes, and another team offers more?
By definition, you're right; there can't be a "firm deal" in place. No deal is official until both sides submit it to the league.

Firm has a few different definitions.

Typically the first one given is "resists change" as opposed to "cannot be changed".

The first is the one I was thinking of when I wrote the poll.

The AI Bot says:

Firm refers to an object, substance, or structure that is solid, compact, and resists pressure or changing shape, yet is not completely hard, rigid, or permanent. It implies a state of being secure, steady, or unyielding, but with a potential for flexibility, change, or softening

What I'm trying to project is that the teams have a firm understanding that neither side expects to be changed.

Kinda like the Max Crosby thing, before the Ravens listened to the rest of the world telling them how stupid they are.

For all my life, businesses have honored such deals. If they have a firm deal, it WILL be honored.

It is truky horrible business practice to pull out of such deals.

That being said, there can be condtions such as a physical.

Hope he just doesn't want to miss the Marshfield Fair.

That's how I'm seeing it too.

It's pretty obvious Philly ran their draft knowing AJB was leaving there, and we ran ours knowing AJB was coming here.

If either party backed out, man, it would be a real problem.

And yet, yes, physicals are a thing. However, I think we can presume due diligence has been done.

Would be more of an eagles problem then ours.. We went to a SB and had an MVP level QB without AJ last year.. as much as I Want and can't wait to get AJ I wouldn't be as disappointed if it did fall through.. although the likelihood of this is very low..

Really? 11 posts in and no one has posted this yet?

oh and ofc RLKAG(P2)

based on what the eagles have done, it looks like there is a framework in place to move AJ Brown out of Philly...

I do not believe for a second that the Patriots are the only team wanting his services...

and if the Eagles have backed off the request for a 1st, then i think more than a few teams will be interested... there are 8 teams with more than 30 million in cap space right now per otc... signing the rookies will eat some of that up, but there is competition out there...
