If Kraft wanted to dispel that rumor, he could put out a statement admonishing the HOF and announcing a Belichick statue to be unveiled next year.

He could, but he won’t.
He should!!!
Golden opportunity for him to rise above it all

I thought Sando's mentioning the way the point system works was interesting, too. Like they don't just vote "yes" or "no" on each. It's a point system and they can spread it around among other candidates and that can result in someone not getting enough points. It sounded weird.
Im not sure it’s a point system I think it’s that they are limited to 3. The highest vote getter gets in as well as anyone else over
40.
Which begs the question who was more deserving than Belichick? They actually decided someone else was more worthy in that group. Maybe more than 1

I didn't like how BB ended things here but this is a joke he's a first ballot without a doubt

If a guy with 8 Super Bowl rings (6 as head coach and 2 as defensive coordinator) with unprecedented success in the salary cap era isn't a first ballot hall of famer, then who is?

This is some SERIOUS concern for potential bias amongst the voters. It must be that BB's greatness extended so long that voters are salty for it. Anyone who can look at Bill and say "nah, he didn't do enough" in my book is a disgrace to be a voter and should have their voting rights stripped

Ron Borges is on 98.5 defending the committee's vote and is rambling like a feeble idiot.
Perhaps he’d like to explain the integrity of a process which allows a voter accused of plagiarism to remain among the ranks?

What an idiotic exercise by the 11+ voters who made this about them. It is great to see the outrage by basically everyone else over this, however.

Bingo, you got bingo!

speaking of cheating scandals I remember towards the end of the dynasty the accusations got ridiculous. didn’t we get accused of filming a bad bengals team?

Yeah.. The Pats Video Production group got permission to film from the Bengals booth prior to a game. Some twit on the Bengals threw a tantrum and claimed the Pats were cheating when, in reality, they'd been given permission to be there.. It was a nothing burger but the team got fined anyways because that's Goodell for you.

The fact that this idiot has a vote tells you all all need to know about the crooked hall of fame

He admitted to taping signals from an improper location and then also admitted filming Jets signals years later after being warned not to. Capital offense? No.

Douchebag move that made everyone believe he was shady and probably did far worse without getting caught?

Yes.

His own owner called him a putz for doing it FFS.

Why are we pretending Bill was a saint who didn’t push envelope and alienate press, coaches, and players for years?

It’s just a little rich for me that a guy who acted that way for years is now indignant that “people are being mean to him”.

He won a lot of games. Should be in for that reason. He was also an arrogant ******* and you reap what you sow.

He gets in next year and no one cares.
WOW.. Not what happened at all.

He admitted to taping from an area that wasn't clearly defined in the rule book. He was taping the same time that the Jets were taping. A fact that people like yourself always ignore.

It wasn't a DB move because other teams were still doing it. This was pointed out by NUMEROUS people on this board.

His owner was a putz who didn't understand what was actually going on.

No one is pretending Bill is a Saint. YOU think that because you can't handle people destroying your ridiculous hyperbole.

Very true.

But the NFL placed a gag order on the Patriots/Kraft/Belichick, while BSPN came out with new bogus stories on a daily basis, every one attempting to outdo the last story, hitting the peak with Tomase's fabricated column.

Problem is that most sports fans outside of New England heard all those lies, and believed them because they came from 'trusted' sources - the various personalities on BSPN, NFLN, etc.

Ask the average American sports fan about spygate, and they will tell you that the Patriots were caught filming the Rams walk-through and other team's practices.

Yet, we have a "knowledgeable poster" regurgitating those claims AGAIN. Despite having been on the board during that time when they were DEBUNKED.

Has Kraft made any statement yet or is he still too busy bad-mouthing Bill to the Atlanta owner ?

He certainly communicates with them. And he certainly reached out or had someone reach out to plead his case.
It’s not beyond the pale for him to tell them he didn’t want to go in the same year as belichick that it would take attention away from each of them to be lumped together, and he should go first because of his age and penalizing BB for the gates would be a good excuse.
He only needed to convince 10.
The flipside is he has been begging for several years to get in and didn't have the influence to get in right away so I don't see him really having the capitol to keep someone out.

Also if voters are going to the media throwing Polian under the bus, we would know if Kraft was lobbying people.

Not only that - this means that at least 11 voters felt that at least 3 of Robert Kraft, Kenny Anderson, L.C. Greenwood, and Roger Craig were more deserving than Bill Belichick.

For me it’s the way he treated Brady, the way he put himself above the team at the end, and candidly the creepy assed girlfriend situation and UNC debacle.

I wasn’t one who loved the way he treated press. Plenty of times I said out loud “can you just answer a ****ing question and maybe not blow snot rockets at the podium?”

You aren’t entirely wrong about Kraft…but I do think any other owner and we don’t have 10 superbowl appearances in that span.

Why should he answer questions that are blatantly obvious and, frankly, an insult to the average intelligence of Football fans? Why should he do/say anything to help people who's job it is to downplay the good and hyper-sensitize the bad?

The RAMS BS that you attempted to harp on and DeflateGate are perfect examples of this. People like you forget that BB had decades of experience with the mediots long before he became a head coach with the Browns, let alone the Patriots. the fact that you act like his disdain wasn't merited just shows poorly on you.

What does any of that have to do with his coaching accomplishments? He could go up there and take his shirt off and blow raspberries at the press for every presser for 20 years and it wouldn't make his accomplishments any less deserving of first ballot enshrinement.
